This interview with Dangote is pure gold.
One key takeaway that hit me hard (and he said it himself about his top management): “When you wake them late at night, they will tell you the process of every part of our business.”
That’s the culture of ownership he built at Dangote Group.
As an entrepreneur, you must know the business inside out.
You can’t sell what you don’t fully understand.
You can’t buy what you haven’t studied.
And you definitely can’t build something you haven’t clearly envisioned.
His top team doesn’t just manage, they own the vision, the numbers, the operations. That level of mastery is why he scaled from trading cement in 1978 to a $45 billion empire across Africa.
No shortcuts.
Deep knowledge + relentless ownership = the real difference between building something big and just running a business.
Every African entrepreneur needs to watch this.

Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) 2026 will be the biggest and most impactful gathering of Africa’s SMEs, women and young entrepreneurs.
It takes place in Accra, Ghana, 4–6 February 2026
APD 2026 is about one thing: empowering SMEs, women and youth to fully participate in Africa’s single market of 1.5 billion people.
It is also where Africa’s largest people-driven movement will be launched: Make Africa Borderless Now!
Over the next 12 months, the movement will mobilise 10 million signatures to be presented to Africa’s political leaders at the 2027 AU Summit.
The demand is simple and legitimate:
Implement the treaties and protocols you have already adopted, from the Abuja Treaty of 1991 onwards, guaranteeing Africans the free movement of people, goods, services, capital, innovation and culture across our continent.
This is the surest path to unlocking opportunity, dignity and prosperity for Africa’s youth and business community.
Africa’s future will not wait.
This is where action begins.

Exactly 141 years ago today, the Berlin Conference began (November 15, 1884), and concluded on February 26, 1885. It was organised by German Chancellor Otto von Bismarck to regulate European colonisation and trade in Africa.
This painful reminder of the Berlin Conference should force us to confront an uncomfortable truth: Colonial borders were designed to divide Africans and 140 years later, they still do.
Nearly the entire continent was carved up in European capitals with zero regard for our peoples, cultures, or shared aspirations. The consequences remain with us today: fragmented markets, restricted movement, duplicated regulations, and a continental economy constrained by borders that were never meant to serve Africans.
But here is what must give us hope:
In February 2026, Africa will launch the single largest campaign ever to bring down these internal borders. Yes! In Accra, Kwame Nkrumah’s Ghana.
At the Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) 2026, we will unveil a continent-wide, people-powered movement to make Africa borderless, not just in rhetoric, but in reality.
And, this time, the campaign will not be left to AU treaties and protocols alone. It will be driven by:
•Pan-African political leaders,
•business and investment champions,
•institutional technocrats,
•artists and cultural influencers,
•women trailblazers, and
•Africa’s youth, who refuse to let colonial boundaries limit their dreams, mobility, creativity, and economic freedom.
From 4–6 February 2026, in Accra at the Accra International Conference Centre, over 5,000 Africans from more than 50 countries will gather to chart a new future. A future where the 1.5 billion citizens of this continent, mostly women and mostly youth, can move, trade, innovate, build, and dream without artificial barriers.
The Berlin Conference divided us.
APD 2026 is where we unite to dismantle those divisions. Join us at the Africa Prosperity Dialogues 2026. To register visit: https://t.co/eQIBiWUqTM

You won’t always know how things will unfold. But that’s where God shows up.
He gives you just enough light for your next move.
All you need do is to trust, surrender, and build the courage to keep moving even when you don't have the full picture.
Once in a while, play the long game of letting people underestimate you. But make sure while they are busy doing so, you keep building something they won’t be able to ignore when it’s done.
Let them think small of you. Let them assume you’re not ready. Don’t let them see you coming.
That way, you get to move without pressure and without unnecessary eyes watching your every step.
It's to your advantage because some things need the shadows to grow quietly.
