SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

The South African Women’s National Selection Panel has today confirmed the 15-player squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, set to take place in England and Wales from 12 June - 05 July. 

Aiming to continue inspiring the future generations of women’s cricket in the country, the Proteas squad, captained by Laura Wolvaardt, features the return of fast bowler Shabnim Ismail as South Africa go in pursuit of their maiden world title.

The Proteas will get their undeniable journey underway when they depart for England on 25 May for a camp in Arundel, where they will face Australia in three training matches from 31 May - 04 June, before turning their attention to the official World Cup warm-up fixtures.

After reaching the last three ICC tournament finals, South Africa will begin their latest T20 World Cup campaign in Group 1 against Australia on 13 June in Manchester, before facing Pakistan, India, the Netherlands and Bangladesh.

The Kyoto Aquarium in Japan keeps a wall-sized flowchart tracking the romantic relationships, breakups, and drama between their penguins. They update it every year.

Red hearts mean couples. Blue broken hearts mean it’s over. Purple lines with question marks mean it’s complicated. Yellow means friendship. Green means enemies.

One female penguin reportedly ended six relationships in a single year. The comment under her photo, translated from Japanese, described her as “basically demonic.” Another penguin was caught dating someone 17 years older who also turned out to be their great aunt. And penguins who get broken up with sometimes refuse to eat.

Apparently the staff say wing-flapping means flirting, grooming each other means it’s official, and if a penguin steals another penguin’s egg… well, it’s exactly what it looks like.
