I studied law believing that this world is governed by charters that protect human beings… that even in war, there is room for mercy… that something called “international conscience” exists. But Gaza stripped me of all those illusions.

I am a law graduate.
I studied the Geneva Conventions, international humanitarian law, human rights, and all the principles that supposedly protect the vulnerable during wartime.

But today—amid famine, under relentless bombing, and in complete isolation from the world—I realized these laws were not written for us.
Not for the starving civilian… not for the child clinging to his father’s chest… not for the mother giving birth on the cold ground with no medicine, no roof.

My children are starving.
My pregnant wife collapses daily before my eyes.
And I stand helpless in a tent that protects from neither the cold nor the fire, asking myself:
Where are those charters? Where is the law? Where is the international community that claims to protect civilians?

Everything I read about “child protection” and “civilian immunity” has turned into a dark joke in the face of my son sleeping to the sound of hunger and the roar of warplanes.
Everything I believed in… has crumbled.

Gaza is no longer part of a world governed by law…
We live in a jungle—where only power rules.
Major powers stand above every law. Our blood is cheap. And survival itself is criminalized.

I swear—the hunger we endure is more brutal than the war.
And I swear—the world’s abandonment of us is the greatest crime of all.

But we are not beggars. We are people of dignity. We dream of a better life, a safe home, a warm meal, and a chance to survive.
Reality forced this life upon us—but we still hold on to hope.
We extend our hands—not in humiliation, but in a plea to save those of us still alive.
