Hamas Political Bureau member, Dr. Bassem Naim, echoes the sentiments earlier expressed by Hamas’ formal statement on the Iranian Memorandum of Understanding, writing that:
“Setting aside the details, the agreement between Iran and the United States marks a turning point between two phases in the international order. The agreement signifies the beginning of the decline of the greatest empire in history.
Congratulations to Iran on this historic achievement, on behalf of the region and the world. Still yet, the greatest achievement will be realized when the settlement [viz., the Zionist entity] is dismantled and Palestine is liberated.”
You think that we, Palestinians, will agree to play against an occupation who genocides us? Sexually assaults us? Forces us to pick up our family body parts in bags? Starves us? Bombs our hospitals? Imprisons and tortures us? @FIFAWorldCup shame on you to think that creating “peace in the Middle East” trickles down to having the oppressed play against their oppressor.
The Hamas movement has published its official response to the Iranian MOU, which reads as follows:
“We welcome the announcement of the agreement regarding the memorandum of understanding between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America.
We extend our sincere congratulations to the Islamic Republic of Iran, its people and its leadership, and express our appreciation for its steadfastness and its commitment to its national rights and interests in the face of pressures and challenges, which contributed to thwarting attempts to impose dictates and projects of hegemony on the region.
We hope that this agreement will constitute a step that contributes to enhancing regional stability and will have a positive impact on various issues in the region, foremost among them the immediate cessation of the ongoing Zionist aggression against our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and the ending of the repeated attacks and violations against Lebanon and other fronts.
We affirm that security and stability in the region will not be achieved as long as the occupation government continues its war of extermination, starvation, and displacement against our Palestinian people, and unless the true roots of the conflict—namely, the Zionist occupation and the denial of our people’s legitimate rights—are confronted.”
As commentators debate the language of the MOU, it is important to keep in mind the close coordination retained through Qaddoumi’s office and even between Hazem Qassem and Iran, to say nothing of Khalil al-Hayya—a figure from the ranks of the Sinwar flank of the movement.
Despite criticism of the MoU between Iran and the United States, the fact that such an agreement was possible at all testifies to the resilience of Iran and its allies. It reaffirms the age-old principle: peace, in any form, can only be secured through resistance.
Hezbollah has praised the Iran-US agreement and says it’s the fruit of the Iranian people’s perseverance and the wise leadership of the Islamic Revolution.
They thanked Tehran for its role in pursuing Lebanon’s rights in all negotiations.
Addressing the Zionist regime, the statement said: “The Resistance will never allow a return to the conditions before March 2, and will continue to powerfully defend its sovereignty and land.”
Iran’s MFA spokesman:
Lebanon, and ending the war in Lebanon, is an inseparable part of the MoU to end the war.
We have shown in the past that we are determined in this. Ending the war and the ceasefire in Lebanon were part of the ceasefire of April 8, and in practice we proved that we are serious about this.
We will certainly monitor developments carefully, and wherever necessary, we will use all our tools to ensure that the other sides fulfill their commitments.
Since dawn, Israeli attacks have continued to target south Lebanon. Local sources report multiple villages being targeted by artillery shelling, detonation operations, and a booby-trapped armoured vehicle on the main road to Haris and Tebnine
Today's quick update [Jun 14]:
- RSF drone strikes on ElObeid for the 5th consecutive day.
- RSF attack on 8 villages in Um Baru Locality, North Darfur; villages were reportedly burned and looted.

Beyond disgraceful!
The Iranian national soccer team, which will play New Zealand tomorrow in LA, arrived at their hotel only to see a handful of Iranian Monarchists protesting their presence and accusing them of being terrorists. (!??!)
It should be noted: Iranian Monarchists used to cheer the National soccer team - just see all the videos of the former crown prince cheering them - but that all appears to have changed after the Monarchists joined forces with Israel.
The US and Zionists managed to launch a war on Iran to force into surrender, now Trump is celebrating a “deal” that makes the JCPOA look like an actual victory.
This indicates a key outcome: Iran has fractured US hegemony irreversibly and exposed its weaknesses.
Vigilance remains key. The US and Zionists can’t be trusted.
Mehr News has released a short version of the 14-clauses of the MoU that will be signed on Friday, between Iran & US.
1. The permanent and immediate halt of war on all fronts, including Lebanon.
2. A U.S. commitment not to interfere in Iran’s internal affairs and to respect the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
3. The complete lifting of the naval blockade within 30 days.
4. A U.S. commitment to withdraw its forces from the areas surrounding Iran.
5. The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days under Iranian “arrangements”.
6. The suspension of oil sanctions, petrochemical products and derivatives, and Iran’s full access to the financial proceeds from them.
7. The requirement for the US & its allies to present reconstruction plans for Iran worth at least $300 billion.
8. Sixty days of negotiations to reach a final agreement based on nuclear issues and the complete lifting of primary and secondary U.S. sanctions, as well as UN Security Council resolutions and resolutions of the IAEA Board of Governors.
9. Iran’s reiteration of its commitment under the NPT not to produce nuclear weapons.
10. During the negotiation period, the U.S. has committed not to add to its forces in the region and not to impose any new sanctions.
11. The release of $24 billion of Iran’s frozen funds during the 60-day period of final negotiations. Half of this amount must be made available to Iran before the negotiations begin.
12. The formation of a supervisory mechanism to implement the agreement.
13. The final agreement will be approved through a UN Security Council resolution.
14. Final negotiations will not begin before half of Iran’s frozen funds are released, Iran’s oil sanctions are suspended, and the naval blockade is lifted. The final agreement will be limited only to the fate of enriched materials and enrichment, sanctions relief, and the program for rebuilding Iran’s economy. Discussions about Iran’s missile program and support for Resistance groups have been definitively removed from the agenda.
