I am deeply saddened and horrified by the brutal lynching of Teacher Ummulkhairi on Sunday, 21st June 2026, in Kaduna. An innocent woman whose only “offence” was asking for directions to attend a lecture, was subjected to an act of unimaginable cruelty. This barbaric act is a stain on our collective conscience. No suspicion or allegation without evidence can ever justify mob violence. The sanctity of human life is fundamental to both our faith and our laws, yet she was denied due process and killed in the most inhumane manner.
Equally disturbing is the reported presence of security personnel at the scene, yet without effective intervention. Every Nigerian deserves the full protection of the law, and jungle justice must never be normalised under any circumstances.
Beyond this incident, I strongly condemn the rising pattern of mob violence across the country, often fuelled by rumours, misinformation, and instant judgment. No society can thrive where citizens take the law into their own hands.
I call on security agencies to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation and ensure that all those responsible, direct perpetrators, instigators, and any negligent actors are brought to justice. Stronger preventive measures must also be urgently put in place to prevent a recurrence.
My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May Allah (SWT) forgive her shortcomings, grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus, and comfort her loved ones.May justice prevail.

According to credible information, H.E. Atiku Abubakar will work with H.E. Seyi Makinde as his running mate on a joint ticket.
The Ibadan Declaration remains firmly in place, as confirmed by Tanimu Turaki.
Rotimi Amaechi is also likely to emerge as the Director-General of the ADC Presidential Campaign through ongoing negotiations.
But 🤞.
Mallam Nasir El-Rufai: We Stand With ADC NEC.
The decision to demand that Mallam Nasir El-Rufai abandon politics as a condition for his freedom strikes at the very heart of constitutional democracy. Freedom of association is a fundamental right guaranteed to every Nigerian citizen, and no individual should be compelled to surrender that right in exchange for liberty.
It is for this reason that the National Executive Committee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was right to recognise Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai as a prisoner of conscience and to call for his immediate release. Political beliefs, affiliations, and participation in lawful democratic activities must never become grounds for persecution, intimidation, or detention.
Democracy thrives when citizens are free to choose their political associations without fear of punishment. Any attempt to criminalise political participation undermines the rule of law, weakens democratic institutions, and threatens the liberties of all Nigerians.
The ADC stands firmly on the side of justice, constitutionalism, and democratic freedom. We therefore join the call for the immediate and unconditional release of Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai and reaffirm that no Nigerian should be denied freedom for exercising constitutionally protected political rights.
