President Gerald Ford was in the midst of a highly competitive contest with Jimmy Carter yet Ford resisted demeaning the ceremonies for partisan purposes. But America had higher standards back then. This is a lie. The Olympic was not declared uninsurable. The damage was serious, but not unrepairable. She was repaired by Harland & Wolff in six weeks and placed back into service.

Absolutely not true. Titanic's hull number 401 was stamped in several places, including the propeller blades, which can be seen on the wreck today. Olympic's hull number 400 was found stamped on the back of wood panelling that was removed when she was scrapped in 1935-36.

Absolute nonsense. Morgan cancelled because of ill health (and died the following year), and the outward-bent plating was due the Titanic's hard landing on the ocean floor, which caused the hull to be bent in that area.
