My father, Shabir Ahmad Shah, was granted bail by the Supreme Court of India. Yet today, 26 July, he enters his 40th year in imprisonment.

After more than a decade away from the public eye, the cameras captured my father again inside a fully caged, high-security prison bus.

Forty years of imprisonment. Years of illness, separation, and hardship. Yet his smile remained untouched. Allahu Akbar!

As this day comes to a close, I leave you with this latest photograph of Baba.

I don’t post often anymore. I am not allowed to. After the Supreme Court granted him bail, we truly believed he would finally come home. But that moment never came.

This photograph, shared by a media channel, is deeply precious to me. It is the first time in almost 10 years that I have seen Baba’s face so clearly. During prison visits, I have only been able to see him through a thick blurred glass window with iron grills.

Every day feels like a lifetime. I long for just one hug. As a family, we carry this pain every single day. Even the surgeries Baba urgently needs continue to be delayed.

Forty years in imprisonment. Yet the same quiet smile. The same unwavering faith. The same steadfast spirit.

If there is still some conscience left in this world, I ask only one thing: please remember Baba in your prayers. Before Allah, every sincere prayer has value, and I believe Allah is the Best of Planners.

SHABIR SHAH COMPLETES 40 YEARS IN IMPRISONMENT

Today, my father, Shabir Ahmad Shah enters 40th year in imprisonment.

Despite being granted bail by the Supreme Court of India, he was never released.

Years have passed, but not a single day has become easier. Every day feels like a year to me. I dream of the moment I can finally see him standing before me, hold him close, and hug him after all these years.

Through it all, his dignity, patience, and unwavering strength remain unbroken and his resolve unshaken.
