@reiislocked First time I watched Heartstopper I found it... a really hard watch. It bought up a lot of memories of being that age. But once I worked past my own issues (which it helped me to do tbh) I found a lot of comfort in the sheer joy of it all. One of my favourite shows now ๐ฅฐ
Just had a thought;
If the BBC had no intention of continuing 'Doctor Who', I reckon they would have just made the Xmas Special *just* to wrap it up and save face.
The fact that they pulled Xmas and put it out to tender, to me, shows that they do have good intent to continue it.
@AMadmanNotABox@WhoMinusContext I had a lot of fun watching this era, but zooming it out it's difficult to miss how it all went wrong along the way ๐
@AMadmanNotABox@WhoMinusContext This is the problem with RTD2. With the Push The Button rights falling through, Millie leaving as full-time companion before her story was fully told, and weird holes in the script like this due to changes, it all feels disjointed, broken, and nonsensical at times. ๐ฅฒ
@butter89656@feedistbaby For me, my self-confidence isn't a problem. I've got loads of that. And I actually feel way more comfy in my skin than I did before. But I've been laughed at and mocked by family members and acquaintances and no amount of confidence makes up for how others make you feel
@TheMindProbe2 If Spymaster has to come after, I'd say that the decision to stand with the Doc being what got them killed + the lottery of regeneration is what made him bad again. That combined with the Timeless Child revelation is enough to make him snap again imo.
@TheMindProbe2 In my head Missy is the last incarnation and the decision to stand with The Doctor comes at the very end of her life. It just feels too poetic that the end of The Master's life is when they finally choose to stand with the Doctor, and that's what gets them killed (by themself..?)
Lots of arguments about whether Blink being "Doctor-lite" is good.
Imo, it being the highest rated ep is the clearest indication that Doctor Who going anthology series for a bit could work.
Have The Doctor be mythological and distant for a while, touching the edges of stories
I would agree with this. The most flawlessly paced single episode of the whole show, also introduces the most ingenious villain in its history, turns a difficult filming schedule into a genuine strength of the storyโฆas close to perfect as you can get really
@redbumboo@BarbaraYetaxa It's a double edged sword.
The Doctor/Martha/The TARDIS are all there and appear throughout + the episode does introduce an iconic DW villain.
But tonally it doesn't "fit in" with the rest of the show, and showing it to a newcomer would be jarring compared to other episodes.
@VerdeSelvans I went back to three button navigation a couple weeks back because I was fed up of the sides of my screen triggering the back gesture ๐
โSomewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice and somewhere else the tea's getting cold. Come on, Ace, we've got work to do.โ
Such a dignified exit.
I know it's marketing speak but man... that BBC announcement was full of quotes like "in order to set the show up for a future series" and "we are choosing to push forward to invest in the long-term future of the show" and yet all I'm seeing is DOCTOR WHO IS DEAD...
