Frisco police warned in April 2025 that an image circulating online was falsely presented as a Collin County Medical Examiner report.

That fake document claimed Austin Metcalf’s primary cause of death was an “MDMA drug overdose,” with blood loss from stab wounds listed as secondary.

Police said the report had not been released and that any information online claiming otherwise was false at that time.

CBS Texas later reported that its Confirm team and law enforcement verified fabricated social media posts in the case, including a fake autopsy report falsely claiming drugs were involved. CBS also reported that fake law-enforcement-style accounts were part of the misinformation surge.

Yet Nina Johnson, known online as “Nina the Paralegal,” appears to have amplified the fake autopsy narrative anyway.

Trial testimony from Collin County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Elizabeth Ventura confirmed the truth:

Austin Metcalf died from a single stab wound through the heart.

Not MDMA.
Not Molly.
Not drug toxicity.

A fake document became a social media weapon, and people ran with it.
