@ToKTeacher I think we get to experience life but we don’t get to direct it. We are machines that are simple functions of their inputs. Choosing is a state that this machine gets to experience but it’s not agency nor non-determinism.

If you’re concious of something it means it has been captured and represented as a brain state. So everything that it means to be human is part of the computation which can be run on any computer.

@chriszeuch @steveruizok @just_be_dev I can offer a guess. The dynamics are changing w.r.t open source. Retaining the tests is a form of IP control. Maybe it was not as necessary in the previous landscape. Hope open source can stay around and be healthy.

@Zoddiacc @Hesamation There’s most likely overlap between what you can enjoy and where you can earn. The less you like it, the more difficult over the long term. If you really like it, it may be difficult in the near term. A job is a good feedback loop - better than neeting and hypothesizing.

@rough__sea Good example was when codex still rendered its own scrollbar. The ideas in the terminal are strong but obfuscated. The idea of composition and one job per tool is something the GUI world has not adopted. Funny the loop of GUI users coming back to the t to make it more GUI like.

@ejames_c You can imagine the effect which a perfect oracle would have on a learner. They would be ahead and behind. Conversely, I think every student who is truly self taught is likewise ahead and behind.
