"I constantly show my athletes the data I collect, which ensures they know that I’m still actively using the data & that my efforts to improve their performance are always evidence-based."

@ZacGoodman_@sam_contorno “Most athletes go to college and get weaker” and “they often run slower and get hurt more frequently” is a dangerous way to frame the importance of relative strength. Misrepresents collegiate S&C and anecdotal at best. Implies that good S&C are few and far between in collegiate.
The athletes in our care deserve programming that is:
➕Rooted in evidence-based practices
➕Adapted to their individual needs
➕Designed to maximize both their immediate performance & long-term development

@Coachgriffin88 What qualifies as being a great S&C coach? We can’t even answer this question.
If it’s based on experiences, exercise science is irrelevant in training.
If we actually want to push the field forward there has to be a better qualifier than “they know what they’re talking about”
@WSWayland Great question. Probably somewhat, but to me, at least, it’s really that great internship experiences are few and far between. S&C Coach doesn’t get paid more to raise the next gen, and talented coaches in college/post-grad simply can’t afford to work unpaid as often anymore.
We’re excited to be fueling up the guys up at Springfield College and the 2022 NEWMAC Champion, @_SCFootball Team. It’s been great working with the @SC_Strength team. Check out how Coaches @bsutt8 & @connor_ryder30 help the guys conveniently maintain weight throughout the season.
There's a trend playing out in coaching that we need to be paying attention to.
Good coaches are quitting, preferring to walk away than put themselves and their families through the lifestyle.
Sports should be the bastion of leadership, not the industry leaders are fleeing.
