Building a product is often a long stretch of heads-down work, second-guessing, and incremental progress that no one really sees.
I sent out our December update this morning and got this reply almost immediately (3 minutes after I hit send). It genuinely meant a lot.
Sydnee has been something I’ve been building, refining, and living inside of for a long time - and moments like this are a reminder that the small improvements compound, and people do notice.
Grateful for customers who take a moment to send feedback like this. Onward to 2026!
@gus_tiffer It takes about a year to get back to a good rhythm, but the good news is that you come back better than ever in my opinion. Having kids change your perception of time and effort in a really awesome way.
@hishibui Careers aren't just skill and output. You need a good network. A network is always strengthened by proximity and the proximity of talent/money in SF is insane.
@thdxr ChatGPT has not been helpful with zod v4 in my experience. Even if I tell, it or give it access to our package file it constantly writes v3. It’s an odd quirk considering the JavaScript ecosystem is generally amazing with an LLM.
I’d have to check, but I’m pretty sure the webhook returns an “over due” status which we then update their status in our db, then in stripe settings if they remain this way for x amount of days it cancels the subscription. I have it set to 7 days… I think you can go lower. It doesn’t need to be done on next renewal.
@tkkong That’s because the engineers actually use the product while building and often have to solve for missing edge cases on the fly. Using a Figma prototype rarely hits the same way as actual code.
@IroncladDev Express backend on a cheap digital ocean app service, with a nextjs front end is goated. Tons of benefits from vercel hosting without the crazy edge function pricing for scale.
The rule I have for my team at work regarding ChatGPT / AI work is simple. If someone can tell it’s AI you’re using it wrong. Otherwise please lean in.
@realEstateTrent Just did about 20 in person interviews for a google ads position of all things and the talent coming out of college is not great right now.
