@The_CrapGamer So by going digital, this means that they don’t have to provide any margin on software sales to retailers.
I suspect the main target is the second hand market.
Time will tell
These are temporary measures—reactors are expected to restart once river temperatures drop. It’s a known vulnerability for river-cooled nuclear plants during extreme heat/droughts, though it represents a small fraction of overall output and doesn’t indicate systemic failure. France’s nuclear fleet (around 56–57 reactors) provides the bulk of its electricity, making such weather-related constraints a recurring but manageable issue.
This is the most damning and outrageous draft-final change in the latest ISP.
In the draft, just Stage 1, ie one 500KV line, modelled to New England.
Ongoing analysis and stakeholder engagement needed "to ascertain whether the second stage will optimise benefits to consumers..."
Crystal clear that AEMO knows full well that there are no projects likely to close in the REZ, and this will be a white-elephant, with terrible costs imposed on consumers with no chance of proportional benefit.
So what happened with the analysis and stakeholder engagement?
Well, one stakeholder trumped all others. The NSW government wrote and declared that they're doing both lines, in a single project, and asked for it to be treated as 'anticipated' which makes it a sunk-cost in the ISP, so AEMO would not do any further analysis on whether it makes economic sense for consumers.
The sheer bloody-mindedness of this move is just breathtaking.
There can be no pretense now that the ISP does anything at all to coordinate investment or protect consumers.
A supremely arrogant government can just over-rule the community, and consumer interests, and the ISP just nods along, puts it all in the path called 'optimal'. 1/
@LofayPeter@AlboMP@PMalinauskasMP@PaulineHansonOz It just gets more ridiculous. 2.78% is beyond a joke. I wonder when Chris Bowen’s unicorns running on treadmills will be connected to the renewable system 😂
@The_CrapGamer@Ricardofpd@XboxTimdog Xbox One was riding on the success of the Xbox 360 for a while maybe? 🤔
Perhaps sales of series S/X sales have been impacted by the number of people who gave up during the Xbox One generation?
@LofayPeter@AlboMP@PaulineHansonOz@PMalinauskasMP Maybe the move away from natural gas cooking/heating is starting to kick in?
Possibly additional data centre is adding to demand.
It can’t possibly be EV charging, Albo assured us that we can use our solar panels to charge overnight 😝
@LofayPeter@Donsvess Does make me wonder if this means we are now paying for 2 systems.
Of course with all the solar and wind etc it means that the coal and gas plants are now not selling to us all 24x7 , but the cost is the same. Meaning we are paying more anyway.
The booming illicit tobacco and vape market PROVES that free markets work - even in a cost-of-living crisis.
Operating outside of government greed, customers and suppliers have created a thriving business model.
The problem is, the corporation is CRIME and the surrounding benefits are a thriving class of thugs, gangs, and violent opportunists.
Imagine if government could curb its personal GREED and allow businesses - all across Australia - to grow and thrive?
Real markets - not black markets.
To forge productivity, the only thing the government needs to do is piss off.
Watch as white collar jobs migrate interstate and offshore from Victoria. Disgraceful government overreach for your government to decide the location that people work from, especially as the Victorian State Government is not an owner or shareholder of private/ publicly traded companies.
@montaguethecat@4mambo I have no issue with nuclear power generation, looking at the results of the 2025 general election, it seems that many people are against it.
Either way while the technology is illegal it’s not going to happen
@shoebil57672266 Oh you mean the solar, wind, battery technology and transmission lines might just be a little more expensive than the figures claimed in the integrated system plans budget claims?
Another snowy 2.0 by any chance?
