Anxiety, Depression and Suicide are nuanced. This record of an interaction between friends was written to encourage discussion around approaches to care.
There’s a reason why all the men in our campaign are over 40. Men often suffer in silence for at least two decades.
Those years of silence represent years of living with a feeling that you’re set apart from everyone else. That you’re living with a secret that feels shameful. Years of putting your physical and emotional health under the added strain of toxic shame.
That shame doesn’t belong with you. Shed the shame. Trust someone you love to see this.
Like and share in the hope it reaches someone for whom it really matters

@RealAdamHunt We all have ADHD characteristics - experience and exposure reveal the characteristics our genes bestowed upon us. Failure to live within the parameters of the characteristics we inherited results in disorder.
@RealAdamHunt Anxiety is an evaluation instrument. It allows us to make the most of an opportunity whilst being mindful of the potential risks.
It requires conditioning.
Philip Larkin wasn’t with the opening line of his poem ‘they fuck you up your mum and dad’ - The ‘fucking up’ has usually happened before you’re born.
It’s usually the uncomfortable heritage of kin and religion.
Suicidal thoughts are the manifestation of an ugly atmosphere, they create an unbearable impasse - life stops, almost literally.
I’m grateful it’s over.

The problem isn't Anxiety
The problem is Anxiety Dysfunction which seems broadly divided into
1. Biological - aberration, defect
2. Neglect - ignorance, stupidity
3. Abuse - physical, emotional, mental, psychological, sexual
4. Overprotection - oedipal, privilege, misguided love
I totally 100% agree on Perception
'Our every perception is suffused with emotion and our every emotion is subsumed by our perception of anxiety' - my words
The sensations associated with anxiety are conditioned into us by our parents

It's a compelling story, only, you can't destroy Anxiety - I thought everybody was agreed on that ?? Destroying anxiety is one of the most childish notions around.
Anxiety is a blessing, and, life is supposed to start by understanding what nature intended it's purpose to be.
Anxiety isn’t a thinking problem—it’s a signaling problem. We’ve spent years correcting thoughts (cognitive distortions) while the nervous system stays on high alert.
Cognitive distortions matter (like catastrophizing) —but they’re the "tip of the iceberg". Beneath them, the Default Mode Network (DMN) is hijacked into prediction, the anterior cingulate hunts for errors, and the amygdala tags everyday life events as dangerous.
When this happens, you're not acting, you're REACTING. Overthinking is a symptom, it's not the problem. Clarity doesn’t come from being aware you're catastrophizing. It comes from shifting neural networks.
When you switch your attention to a full-body task like walking or drawing, you switch neural networks. You go from the DMN to the sensorimotor/SN. This unlocks the negative thought spirals and brings safety. Then your brain dances rhythmically and predictively through life no longer ruminating and overthinking.
Ah, yes, but...
My Psychological Satisfaction doesn't come from a textbook - it comes from me.
My psychological satisfaction isn't based on science - it's based on me.
You'll work your own out.

I keep getting told
“Anxiety is natural”
and
“Anxiety isn’t the problem”
and
“ Anxiety Dysfunction is the problem”
Which one is the problem?
Is it, Anxiety?
Or, is it Anxiety Dysfunction?
@DrCamiloOrtiz@conqueranxietyB
'White boy' did get lucky.
I genuinely don't have the desire to save anyone from anything at anytime.
That said, it was impossible to see a friend in distress - especially since the trained professionals were the cause of his problem.

Anxiety is our interface with the world around us, its genesis is subconscious and the centre of its activity is our gut. It acts much like the wind blowing in our face, providing crucial sensual information about our surroundings.
@conqueranxietyB Thanks for the mantra:
1. Anxiety is natural.
2. Anxiety Dysfunction is conditioned in by parents/primary carers.
3. Anxiety Dysfunction is the gateway to all metaphysical distress and disorder.
Mental health professions do not create mental health problems (other than in their own children). Unfortunately, the only thing they seem to have agreed on is that they can't agree - this continues to fuel a different problem.
🚨Announcement🚨
The mental health profession has been taken over by dangerous ideologies. It’s time to push back.
Today, I’m very excited to announce the launch of Just Therapy, as well as my return to private practise.
Just Therapy is an association and online directory of mental health practitioners aligned by the following principles: Non-Judgement, Neutrality, Identity Politics-Free, Evidence-Based Practice, Exploration, Resilience, Free Speech.
If you are looking for a counsellor or therapist who holds these principles, you can now find one on the Just Therapy website (link in the post below).
Furthermore, having spent the last number of years fighting litigation against the therapeutic establishment and forcing them to accept gender-critical practitioners, I am also pleased to announce that I am setting up a part-time therapy practise, seeing a limited number of clients.
If you would like to have therapy with me, please take a look at my website for full details (link in the post below).
Threat ???
You didn't ask to be born.
You didn't ask for anxiety.
Anxiety subsumes all other emotions.
Life isn't perfect - it's a performance, in that moment.
If I were of obedient will - i’d be dead. Lucky for me, I was prepared to fight for my life. My worry is relapse is an ever present threat.

You can go wherever you like - but, you cant get away. Worry is imaginary.
Keep working on the understanding yourself bit and keep looking forwards for the future.

@conqueranxietyB Thanks for the mantra:
1. Anxiety is natural.
2. Anxiety Dysfunction is conditioned in by parents/primary carers.
3. Anxiety Dysfunction is the gateway to all metaphysical distress and disorder.
Anxiety is the pre-emptive feeling which allows us to characterise events as potentially harmful or a potential opportunity.
It’s born in or alternatively the tools for its actuation are richly in place at birth.
It links fear, worry and ambition.
