People should always be in control of the future.
OpenAI is against the notion that it would be acceptable for people to be relegated to a role of doing things that “AI systems think makes sense to reward in humans”.
People should not cede control of the future to superintelligence, and that requirement should ultimately constrain AI progress.
@Constans314@constans He said that God is non binary
That all religions point to the same truth
On Ezra Kleins show he said that we are all God
All of these are false in every serious denomination
the last one is explicitly a heresy, it's the foundation of luciferianism
As the next chair of the Social Security Subcommittee, a top priority will be to expand Social Security benefits by at least $2,400 a year & extend Social Security’s solvency for generations.
How? By scrapping the cap & demanding that the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes.
Stop making the show about your ideas. Build coalitions within the Dem party and come out with an unified message. Some of your ideas won’t make the platform. Deal with it on your own instead of crying on twitter.
DEMOCRATS MUST DELIVER
Trumpism grew out of the failure of the Democratic Party to stand with working families. That cannot continue. At a time of unprecedented income and wealth inequality and declining faith in democracy, Democrats MUST deliver. No excuses.
- Medicare for All
- A $20-an-hour minimum wage
- The PRO Act
- A wealth tax on billionaires, which would pay for universal childcare, free public colleges and universities, and a massive housing program
- An AI data center moratorium
- Bringing ICE under control and comprehensive immigration reform
- REAL campaign finance reform
leopold blew up on margin, only to flee to options… only to blow up there…. And then he fled to his private anthro shares right before they cancel the ipo.
I genuinely can't think of a YC company that became successful since Kalshi and Zepto
yet somehow every YC founder I meet acts like they've already won. and why are they so smug and sanctimonious?
couple years ago, I met an Italian founder who got into YC with a fintech idea and now he does AI consulting lol
The big lesson of the Biden years is that you have to prosecute these people. You can’t just move on. You need to make the next generation of grifters and hate mongers scared for their lives.
And now the Dems have won
Elon is someone who opts to win with brute force,
instead of tact and strategy
He is not cunning but gung ho and this will cost him dearly over the next 5 years
Maybe he’ll wake up and realize
his sycophants are going to drag him to hell
>the Germans, who are not known for falling for pseudoscience
lol, lmao even
german public healthcare has funded homoeopathic and anthroposophic treatments until this year (GKV-Beitragssatzstabilisierungsgesetz)
I cannot more emphatically reject this way of thinking. Everyone matters. Everyone is living a real life. No one is an NPC. It's a kind of madness to think that the will to power is a prerequisite for realness.
"...we should be actively goading more billionaires into spending on irrational, high-variance projects that might actually advance civilization. No one cares about your Loro Piana. If you've built an empire, the best possible use of it is to burn its capital like a torch and light up a corner of the future. Fund the ugly middle. Pay for the iteration loops. Build the cathedrals. This is how we advance civilization..."
Btw “earnesty predator” is my word for what Elizabeth Holmes, Sam Altman, and everyone at Anthropic does. It’s a combo of earnestness and “honesty”/“transparency”, and I imagine them using their intense eye contact to hypnotize their prey. The susceptible prey is mostly autistic nerds, pathological “early adopters”, and greedy VCs/self-styled investors.
H/T @RichardMCNgo describing Altman as having an “earnestness field”.
A private prison company offered Minnesota an empty prison for 75 million dollars. The state said no. Then Trump’s administration paid the same company almost 500 million for it.
The prison has sat empty in Appleton, Minnesota since 2010. Last year CoreCivic emailed the state and offered to sell it for 75 million, upgrades included. Minnesota passed. Fifteen months later, Homeland Security bought it for an ICE detention center at 495.6 million.
How could this be? You guessed it. CoreCivic gave half a million dollars to Trump’s inaugural committee. And it still gets paid about 75 million a year to run the place.
Republicans love talking about fraud in Minnesota. JD Vance says his task force is all over it. So where are they on this one? I break it all down in today’s show (link in reply).
I get so annoyed by posts like this.
People get sick. People get pregnant. Life happens. Unexpected things happen. And what exactly is the alternative? That people should just end up on the street because life didn’t go according to plan?
It’s genuinely wild to me that this is even a debate.
You can say whatever you want about Europe, and people certainly love to talk about our taxes. But you know what? Our schools are free. Healthcare is free or affordable. Universities are free or heavily subsidized. Childcare is affordable. And if you lose your job or get sick, there’s a system in place to help you get back on your feet.
That’s the whole point. We have a social safety net because we understand that life doesn’t always go as planned.
And I genuinely believe that having that protection should be a basic human right, not a privilege.
Now, if you want to talk about how Europe can make it easier for startups to grow, attract investment, or build successful companies, I’m all for that conversation. There’s plenty we can improve.
But please, let’s stop acting like our social welfare system is the problem.
It’s one of the things we should be most proud of.
