What a fantastic day! Senior’s Day for @GIS_Gems Class of 2021! The highlight is always the Senior Walk to rapturous applause through the school community including KG, PYP, & MYP. A special day, for a special group of young people! #SeniorWalk
A successful #SeniorPrank Day for our amazing Grade 12 students today. They took it as an opportunity to goad me for the liberal views I’ve espoused over the last few years 🤣 All in jest of course, & cleaned up afterwards. A little harmless fun after the most trying of years!
DP2 Chem students constructing voltaic cells. They calculated & prepared 1M metal salt electrolyte solutions, used several metals as electrodes, measured voltage in each, & related their results to the activity series👩🔬👨🔬 #WeRGIS@GIS_Gems@LouieChami@Yass1nAhmed@haniafouad_
This is when it counts... last lesson of a long week, @GIS_Gems DP2 students supporting each other in preparation for their Spanish Ab Initio oral assessments! As always, thank you @TeacherDexter for allowing me to drop in! @mflteacherwill1
"To his village, Muhammad is known as a veteran who runs a meat market. The the CIA, he's a militant leader who stormed the government center in Baghdad."
(do you see the problem?)
The US is once again officially joining the Paris Climate Accord that our diplomats and scientists worked so hard to negotiate. But for this to mean anything, tackling the climate crisis must be at the center of America’s entire governing agenda. No time left to spare!
The best part of my day is dropping into DP lessons to engage with students. Here we have a Lang & Lit class with students teaching students! Peer assessment & feedback in action, with Mr. Fuller facilitating the learning #WeRGIS
DP2 Global Politics got a little heated today discussing universalism v cultural relativism in relation to Human Rights... can cultural relativism ever justify different concepts of HR? Is the UDHR a western construct? Are all humans entitled to the same rights & freedoms?
DP2 Students off schedule today working on their Extended Essay. It is amazing how much work can be done in one day when the conditions are right. Great job all round! #Essaywriting#WeRGIS
Though we didn’t get to celebrate together in real life, I’m forever thankful for the experiences I’ve had alongside the members of my committee and for their boundless contributions. Thank you to Sarah, Roos, Yuheng, Nima, Khalil, Eashani, Noor, Jude, Riti, Sully, and Tara. 💛
Yesterday, the Student Life Committee celebrated its final meeting, before passing on the baton to the next StuLife Committee! I could not have asked for a better committee - they are truly my family and I can’t begin to express how proud I am of these 10 individuals. #WeRGIS 💛
Sarah, who went so far above and beyond to ensure our committee was successful, has been nothing short of an inspiration to us all. Her headstrong leadership skills, communication and problem-solving assets, and heart of gold made her the perfect StuLife leader & partner.
