The Gambia Action Party (GAP) has called for the protection of Burkina Faso’s military leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, amid growing Western criticism accusing him of exploiting national resources and endangering citizens.

GAP leader Musa Ousainou Yali Batchilly described Traoré as a revolutionary figure targeted for resisting neocolonial influence, urging Africans to rally in his defense. “Touch Traoré, and you touch Africa,” Batchilly warned, calling on citizens across the continent to rise in solidarity.
