I don’t know how this claim has gone so viral.
This was actually completely intentional by Novo.
Novo Nordisk does not operate in an “oops. lawyer forgot the $250 CAD fee” manner.
This is, with all due respect, a shallow read of Novo’s actual corporate strategy.

1. encourage non-procreative alternatives to conception
2. kill babies
3. cut everyone’s dick off

not really! these boomers *can* afford to pay it (and they will, now that no one else is paying it for them), they would just prefer not to, and to spend money on things for themselves.
what we lose here is pickleball sales and MSNBC conference tickets, or whatever it is lib boomers spend money on.
the multiplication factor in the public goods game exists because it is, in fact, a public good. it’s not just fucking magic that turns $100 into $150.
there’s no public good, no efficiency gain, nada, that comes from Joe Taxpayer transferring his dollars to Boomer Bill’s premiums.
