im confused, we're all in agreement that trump spells chaos and disorder - but shouldn't we blame the party that lost handily to him again by running the same "tack to the moderate right" strategy which demonstrably failed? or the pundits who led ppl astray?
It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them.
While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change.
And they’re right.
I've been wrong before (Clinton) and I might be wrong this time, but I think Kamala Harris is finished not just in terms of the election, but probably her political career as a whole. Clinton at least had the influence to clinch onto the Dems like a leech. Harris tho?....oof.
The most popular liberal podcast is a bunch of wonky Obama staffers who talk about issues the average person doesn't think about ever
The most popular right wing one is the guy who hosted fear factor and knows literally nothing about anything
And we wonder why aren't winning
all im gonna say is americans need to abandon american individualism. and im saying this with love too, you need community to survive this. support each other. all minority struggles are interconnected
I'm a broken record on this but a 2nd Trump presidency makes it even more important that big liberal cities become places that build enough housing to accept the internal & international migration they've been pricing out for decades
@ColinDMcIntosh@kenklippenstein Yup. This was the kicker.
"Trump bad," sure, okay. On board. But what makes Harris better than Biden?
She has never, ever had an answer.
Dead in the water.
“Democrats have to move right”
To the right of campaigning with Liz Cheney and promising Republicans cabinet seats?
No. This is what Democrats running to the right looks like.
The future is centering the working class, being pro-peace, and advocating for Medicare for all.
The biggest lesson of 2024, IMO:
Campaigns ads don't matter (studies agree), but the media space does.
The right has content mills churning out braindead slop. They're popular. They work.
Dems should plough their massive warchests into progressive & liberal media.
