@BillandtedTracy Research into the laws and news shows that Australia has a score of 22/100, while the ACT has a score of 39/100. That doesn't sound so bad.
Hey fellow cannabis lovers!
Need your stoner wisdom. I'm putting together the State of Cannabis 2026 survey. Tell me how things really are in your corner of the world 🙏

Never thought digging through the history of criminalizing a plant could be so fascinating.
I hate this so much. The top Google result (an ad) leads to a well-made scam version of @safe. Given how often legitimate crypto projects get suspended from ad programs, fkn @Google still happily sells its top spot to scammers after all these years.
@benwoodall I mean, even Bitcoin and Ethereum began as centralized. It's about the direction and targets.
Founders should be making themselves progressively less necessary, distributing knowledge, responsibility and power rather than accumulating them.
@benwoodall Network States are, in a way, just a new playground for domination. They turn dissatisfaction with existing governments into an opportunity to build new ones, preserving the same concentration of power under the language of freedom and voluntary association.
Reading through @Logos_network zine, I came across samizdat. Back where I come from, this was the best kept secret you would share only with those you trusted unconditionally. Being busted with a samizdat could mean ruined life.

@benwoodall What I like about the MeshCore firmware is that its much simpler than Meshtastic... its basically just library and few tools. It leave much more creativity on the people, there is lot of great opensource clients or firmwares around.

@benwoodall I dont see it that black & white... It’s true MC has a proprietary client and leaders with centralizing tendencies, but Meshtastic is already dominated ecosystem as an institution, with more structure, more gatekeeping, more market power.
@benwoodall Nice! This is what Ivan Illich meant by convivial tools: technology that expands our autonomy and reduces dependence on institutions. I think Ethereum and self-hosting are great examples of that potential.
@benwoodall Start small, but scale fast :) ... Every tax we pay, every order we follow without question, every skill we outsource, every leader we cheer, every minute of our time we sell...
@benwoodall Liberals built constitutions, Marxists built revolutions, libertarians and ancaps build markets and exit. All useful tools, but all trying to fix the system from outside. Almost none asked why people keep wanting rulers in the first place.
@benwoodall Kings, priests, experts, institutions trained us for centuries to submit to those above and to dominate those beside us. Every family, office and movement reproduces it. The ruler lives in our habits, and that’s where it must die.
