Police say they also stole GOODWILL DONATIONS FROM THE BACK OF HIS CAR after they repeatedly punched him, stole from his wallet, and then repeatedly STOMPED ON HIS HEAD.

The elderly man, Lance Jefferies, is currently recovering in the hospital.

According to family members, Lance's eyes are swollen shut. He has neck injuries, his jaw is swollen. He has blood clots in his leg and also in his stomach where he was kicked. So now he has to stay in the hospital so he can get surgery, and he’s in a lot of pain.”

Lance is described as "quiet man who rarely goes out much" and stays at home with his wife most of the time.

Police Pursuit Ends With Fatal Crash on Maryland’s Crain Highway

BRANDYWINE, Md. — On Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026, at approximately 10:20 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to stop a silver passenger vehicle after Virginia, police reported that one occupant had more than 20 active warrants from Arlington, Fairfax, Montgomery, Prince George’s, Howard, Anne Arundel and Frederick counties, several of them felonies.

The vehicle fled from the traffic stop and traveled toward Prince George’s County. Deputies pursued the vehicle on Crain Highway but temporarily lost sight of it near Substation Road.

The vehicle was later observed traveling in the wrong direction on Crain Highway. A supervisor ordered the pursuit terminated. Shortly afterward, the vehicle crossed the median from the northbound lanes into the southbound lanes near McKendree Road in Brandywine and collided with two uninvolved vehicles.

The driver was identified as Miya Tamerra Stringfield, 34, of Indian Head. A passenger, Alexis Cummings, 33, of Temple Hills, was also inside the vehicle.
Cummings was transported to a hospital with serious injuries and later died on Aug. 31 as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Stringfield was also seriously injured.

Occupants of the two uninvolved vehicles sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening. No law-enforcement officers were injured.

🚨BREAKING: President Trump has signed the papers making Marco Rubio the official national security adviser.

Rubio has been doing the job on an acting basis since May 2025, after Michael Waltz left. He already is secretary of state. Now both titles are permanent.

He is only the second person in U.S. history to hold those two posts at the same time. Henry Kissinger did it in the 1970s.

Rubio will keep running the State Department and the National Security Council. He stays the direct line to the president on war, intel, and diplomacy.
