All publicly-funded school boards have a responsibility to provide a safe, inclusive & affirming place for 2SLGBTQI+ students to learn and grow.
Raising the Pride flag is a simple, meaningful way to do that. @YCDSB's vote last night sets us all back.

In 2018, more teachers left the profession than any other year prior.
A year later, 2019, that number was surpassed.
In 2020, that record was again surpassed.
In 2021, AGAIN.
It’s rarely spoken of as the emergency it is. Teaching is simply an unsustainable career for many.

Government’s numbers don’t add up. Minister Wyant claims there are more teachers in classrooms. But the facts are enrollment is up by 2.1% and number of full-time teachers dropped by 1%. He also said only the opposition is complaining about how many students are in classrooms.
I agree with this columnist's call for a plan to be put in place to ensure #bced has enough certified teachers. We have a big problem folks, especially in rural areas but we are now seeing the teacher shortage impact more districts & larger districts. 1/4 https://t.co/WUA8vPkSgV

Unions, BETTER GET ON THIS
Will you stand by while your members are denied @WorkSafeBC for #LongCovid arising from occupational exposure?
HCW & #bced staff had highest COVID claims in ‘20-22. Now they’ll be denied? No work, no compensation?
