@geoffwilt like there is a line between becoming a dead end Raytheoid building cruise missiles or bolstering atomization and the gig economy by building a fuckass Waymo and acknowledging that if shit doesnt go our way we waste the efforts of others gone towards helping us escape the cycle
@geoffwilt this thinking can only come from someone who has never been forced to make compromises for the lives of others. it's the moral equivalent of pinning the world's pollution entirely on citizens not recycling - do what you can, but we are all subject to capital
for 6 months or so i’ve been like ‘i should go out more. i should go on more dates. i should get a crush. it’ll be fun.’ anyway i went out and i got a crush and now i feel like a 19th century consumptive
I think it's really good, developmentally, for the 14-21 y.o.s to be snobby about books, music, art, poetry, etc so they can learn to be ecumenical, generous, and curious in middle age. But you need to have standards to learn how to explore beyond them!
the entire discipline of aerospace engineering is actually just the practice of rizzing people with money to finally find the funding to actually build concepts developed in the 1950s
