@Andrew33080654 Also I don’t think they are eco guys, they are actually scamming cowboys. The kind that want you to sign on the night with no cooling off period, etc.
@Andrew33080654@vitaelectrical It can also rot the timbers & you can’t see the rot. Some mortgage companies won’t lend if the property has it installed. I had a customer who was selling his Dad’s house who had been duped into getting it, I think it cost £12k to remove & certify.
@Commsrisk@sainsburys They all do it, well certainly Tesco & Morrisons. I have no issue with loyalty cards if it saves me some money. Everyone wants your data, whats the big deal?
@EquinoxElec@credwards That was about 4 years ago, it is still not good practice to load a circuit breaker for prolonged periods more than 80% of its rating, thats why I fit a B40 rather than a C32.
@credwards@EquinoxElec I have always used a B40 RCBO, as recommended by Myenergi tech department, I also space them out where possible.
As for cable size, I always use 6mm, unless its a long run & calcs require bigger. A lot of the time the calcs would probably allow 4mm.
@nixonelectrical I been installing exclusively @collingwoodLED H2 Pro for 9 or 10 years, they have a 7 year warranty. I have only replaced 3 under warranty & 3 or 4 out of warranty. If the customer wants to supply something different, it is fine by me but I am not liable for the warranty.
@MarJerRow@jwflame That dual fan isolator isn’t a standard item, it is part of the @ClickScolmore Mini Grid range, a 4 aperture plate & 2 fan isolation switch modules. One of the great versatile uses of their Mini Grid range.
@MarJerRow@jwflame I put 2 fans in recently, 1 in a walk through utility & 1 in the toilet off it, both on humidity sensors. The mixed flow fans were in the loft space above, I put a double fan isolator in the toilet out of the way.
@SulisElectrical@jwflame Is that PV ready, like EV ready?
New builds are rubbish in every respect, probably only 2 good things going for them: 1 - can sometimes get some half decent deals for first time buyers, 2 - they usually have half decent insulation.
@MoneySavingExp I’d say absolutely not, if done at the time, maybe but definitely not retrospectively months or years later.
The only time I have gone back for VAT was for a charity which I didn’t charge VAT but changed the decision later when they & my accountant decided it wasn’t eligible.
