@LionOhDay the series itself was great.

but i was referring to the massive delay beforehand that nearly put me, and i would suspect a significant amount of others, to sleep.

that, was not great.

this is without a doubt THE worst start to a pokémon world championship sunday, that i’ve ever seen.

what better way to kick off the festivities than a hour long delay before the unite finals.

followed by multiple lengthy reviews & bracket resets, during the pokémon go finals.

@gymleaderjennie as someone who also doesn’t understand pokémon go, i thought the broadcast did an awful job explaining to the audience what was going on… or i guess, ‘wasn’t’ going on.

instead, they just continued to ignore it and disguise the moment, simply just by “faking it” with lame hype.

props to @spragels & @doobsnax for doing their best to keep things engaging & entertaining, despite whatever production issues were happening behind the scenes.

but worlds is a first impression for newcomers to pokémon.. and this certainly wasn’t an impression you want to leave.

i now see why pokémon unite was removed from the ‘27 worlds championship circuit.

nearly one hour into the ‘26 worlds stream (the first of four major events to kick off pokémon’s biggest day of the year) and like psyduck, we’re left confused waiting for the unite final to start.

it’s unacceptable production issues such as these, on pokémon’s biggest stage (..literally) that prove this game has no place on the championship circuit.

what should be a celebration of pokémon’s greatest competitors from around the world, was instead reduced to a waiting game.
