🚨‼️The Holy Ghost is not God’s electricity, Heaven’s mood lighting, or a religious thrill running up somebody’s spine while the organ holds the right note. He is not an “it” to be switched on by music, worked up by repetition, or operated by a preacher who has learned how to manipulate a crowd. The Holy Ghost is God. You do not plug into Him like a battery charger; you bow before Him as the third Person of the Godhead.

In Acts 5, Peter told Ananias that he had lied “to the Holy Ghost,” and then said, “thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.” He speaks in Acts 13:2, commands in Acts 8:29, forbids in Acts 16:6, searches in 1 Corinthians 2:10, and can be grieved in Ephesians 4:30. An impersonal force does not speak, command, teach, witness, search, or grieve. The Bible does not leave the Holy Ghost floating around as a theological fog; it identifies Him as a divine Person.

A church can manufacture excitement without the Holy Ghost approving a single minute of it. Dim the lights, repeat the chorus, increase the volume, stir the emotions, and somebody will mistake goosebumps for God. But a trembling floor is not proof of a transformed heart, and religious noise is often the smoke machine used to hide an empty pulpit. The Holy Ghost does not need carnival equipment to prove He entered the building.

The first evidence of understanding the Holy Ghost is not learning how to “use” Him; it is realizing that He has every right to use you. He did not come to advertise Himself, glorify a performer, or turn worship into a spectacle. Jesus said, “He shall glorify me.” Where the Holy Ghost is truly working, Christ becomes greater, sin becomes uglier, Scripture becomes clearer, and self becomes smaller.
