@peterboghossian Are you arguing simply that he shouldn't be removed on some kind of moral/ethical/logical grounds, or do you make a case that there is some positive benefit to him keeping his position?
@LGump10@x_facts_matter@elonmusk I don't think society cares anymore. Being poor does not somehow relieve you of the personal responsibility to not commit violent crime.
@TheKingofKatz@stingerdelux@RichardDawkins The argument the other guy is making is that not sneering and not being a dehumanizing prick would be a far more effective tactic for just about anything. And he's right. Hate can't drive out hate only love can do that. Darkness can't drive out darkness. Only light can do that.
@dinokun84@EzioAKS@VelvetPhysics@nikicaga The cost of home ownership has doubled in the last 4 years. When wages barely keep pace with inflation but the largest line item on most people's budget doubles, how is that not relevant?
@libertycorn0123 @EzioAKS@VelvetPhysics@nikicaga All the while the cost of home ownership has doubled in the last 4 years rendering this virtually meaningless for those of us under 30 who don't own homes...
@creativelytired@richardrahl1086@whstancil Yea, that's if you assume the government inflation numbers are accurate. Which they aren't. Housing, which is the largest line item for most people, is up more than 30% for renters and more than doubled for a mortgage since pre pandemic.
@BlameBootsy@esjesjesj I interpret Elon's point as "it's almost as if I know enough about software development and business to know that 90% of these people aren't needed to run Twitter." Which, given that it's been over a year since that point, is being proven largely correct.
@BlameBootsy@esjesjesj My point, sir, is that you can't compare a cruise ship and software. You were trying to imply that firing 90% of the people from Twitter or a cruise ship will inevitably lead to some kind of problem, which I'm telling you that isn't necessarily true. It's been over a year now.
@PapaSmurf198@Ally_Sammarco @AmlieKarl But women are better suited to have and nurture children. Women can care for children in ways men can't. They have value there that men can not provide. It's not crazy for a man to want a wife to raise children, just like it's been since time immemorial.
@BlameBootsy@esjesjesj Tech companies can lay off 90% of their staff and you won't notice anything. The same can't be said about a cruise ship. There's nothing wild about it.
@whstancil No economic fundamental? How about the median income cannot purchase the median priced home, gas is $1/gallon higher than 2019, 2023 jobs numbers overstated by 440k jobs, interest rates at 20 year highs, and real wages are flat to down.
