President Droupadi Murmu met a group of artists of traditional miniature art forms of India and witnessed their work at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Eleven artists staying at Rashtrapati Bhavan under its Artists-in-Residence programme displayed different art forms such as Rajasthani, Pahari, Guler, Kangra etc. The Artists-in-Residence programme is a celebration of the spirit of India’s artistic traditions, reaffirming the important role of living art traditions in preserving cultural identity and inspiring future generations.

I will be in Surat, Gujarat and Daman tomorrow, 5th June, to attend various programmes aimed at improving ‘Ease of Living’ for the people. In these two programmes, development works worth over Rs. 20,000 crore will be inaugurated or their foundation stones will be laid.
