Building Founder-led Newsletters that nurture your audience and retain qualified leads | 846k+ subscribers grown with clients | Founder @ Newsletter Executive
I never properly introduced myself…
Three years ago, I was a college freshman with $0 in online revenue.
Today, I’ve helped 20+ founders grow nearly 1 million newsletter subscribers from the ground up.
Here’s how it happened:
I grew up in Redding, California. Got a full-ride scholarship to study engineering. But even with that safety net, I felt pulled toward something bigger than lectures and labs.
So I started exploring an online business. No roadmap. No audience. Just a desire to build something real.
Tried everything. Didn't know what was going on.
Then I found newsletters.
Helping founders grow their list, refine their voice, and actually connect with their readers, it just clicked. Clients took a chance on me. It worked. Word spread.
Fast-forward: I’ve built systems that have driven thousands in sponsorship revenue and scaled newsletters from 0 to hundreds of thousands of subscribers.
This month, I’m officially stepping beyond X, bringing the same growth-focused approach to other platforms too.
But behind the screen, I’m just a guy who loves snowboarding, hunting, fishing, lifting, and spending time with the people who matter most.
Appreciate everyone who's been part of this journey so far. Let’s keep building.
Clients be putting smiley faces after completing work and telling me about it.
Like bro...
Nobody's smiling. I wanted that done WEEKS ago.
But it's not my business I guess.
I love the clients who end up being like friends.
Like yes, I appreciate being asked how life is going even if it's just your "way in" to ask me whether or not I'm doing what I'm being paid to do.
My client made $1,169.15 from one email.
It took me 22 minutes to draft and schedule for them.
That’s over $3,000/hour from a single send.
Creators and founders I’ve worked with try to build sponsorship programs, hire sales reps, or spend weeks chasing outside deals...
When Beehiiv already lets you (me in this case) approve and insert ads inside your dashboard that are guaranteed to pay what they agree on.
The best part about this process is there are no calls, teams, or back-and-forths.
It's literally just me doing the work.
Most people overlook it because it feels “too easy.”
But that’s exactly why it works.
It’s the simplest way to monetize a newsletter, and I set it up for clients who reap the benefits and don't text me but once a month.
I have the opportunity to give a speech at college graduation.
If I do, it won’t be about college.
It’ll be about the experiences I’ve had thus far while in college that aren’t college based.
Think friends, business experiences, hunting, and self development.
Should I do it?
I need a whiteboard in life, and so should you.
Without every task written out in order of importance, it’s nearly impossible to “lock in” and accomplish things.
Try it if you haven’t.
College is said to be “pointless” on guru Twitter.
I disagree.
But not for the regular reasons.
If you want to go to college to make a good income, sure there are better options to make money.
But there’s no better place for self development than being on your own surrounded by peers your age.
The easiest way to grow an email list from any social media:
1) Post free gift
2) Deliver in DMs w/ exchange for email
3) Build an automated sequence to deliver to subscribers inbox
Now you get more value out of the free gifts you’re posting 2x a week
When I’m in class all I want to do is work.
Work as in write emails, post content, or respond to clients.
But when I’m not in class I’m more motivated to do school work or go to the gym.
I guess I’m just wired to do what I’m not supposed to be doing all the time.
One of the hardest things about email marketing is making sure your sequences all work properly.
With all the different tags and automated actions, it’s really easy to mess up your subscriber journey and send people emails they’re not supposed to be getting.
One of the best ways to test this is to turn down wait times and use a swipe email address to check sequences from a subscribers perspective
I rarely meet people that are doing so much so fast I think to myself “damn I’ve been doing nothing”
But I just met another one yesterday and it kicked me back into gear.
A proper email system has so many capabilities, but every system should have the same goal:
Make your audience familiar with you, your brand, what you provide, and what problem of theirs it solves.
