PACEY, formerly the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years, has today transferred into the Coram Group and will be known as Coram PACEY.
What a thought- provoking day I’ve had working with Early Years Leaders in Sheffield today @learnsheffield talking about best practice and effective leadership in Early Years.
Next stop; tonight’s #PlatMatters webinar for @PACEYchildcare
Together, We Build the Future for our Children.
A thread 🧵
In the early years sector, we are shaping the foundations for our children, their well-being, and success for their future. But we can’t do it alone.
Important new findings which reflect what we are hearing from PACEY members too 👇
The sector needs to join together to call for bold and urgent reform to the funding system - without this we risk losing the high-quality provision that so many families rely on.
A new Alliance survey from the Early Years Alliance has found that as a result of the combined impact of NI rises, NMW increases and updating charging guidance:
- Nearly 4 in 10 early years settings in England are likely to cut the number of 3/4YO funded places they offer
We were delighted to collaborate on the new #ReadyForSchool resource with @KindredSquared and other early years experts.
Explore the new resources around building essential skills for a smooth transition to school👇
It has been great to see experts across the #EarlyYears sector coming together to work on a single, shared definition of what being #ReadyForSchool means.
Great information & great support resources – a demonstration that we are stronger together!

Report from @TheIFS highlights how the government’s plans to deliver 3000 school-based nurseries is not a silver bullet:
“while this may create additional capacity over the longer term, it is unlikely to substantially ease supply constraints by September 2025, the period when demand for new places will be most acute”

An important opportunity for early years and childcare professionals to highlight sector challenges. Great to see childminders featured in the discussion and lots of PACEY members tuning in and submitting questions! 👏
Ensuring children in every part of the country can access high quality early education and childcare is a priority for this Government. Pleasure to host a broadcast with the sector tonight, thank you to the hundreds that joined the call to have your say

"We know that our members not only provide first class early education but also life changing support and help to wider families, as well as liaison between services. They do this now and could do so much more. That is why we need a childminder strategy.”
