This week, @ActinideInc became the first startup in history to enrich uranium, producing HALEU, the fuel for next-gen and small modular reactors.

We did it using Endurance, a particle accelerator that we designed and built in Texas.

Endurance usually produces enriched Yb-176, a precursor for cancer therapies worth roughly $30,000 per gram.

After a bulk Yb-176 delivery on July 30, we reconfigured Endurance for uranium.

Federal kratom update: DEA’s temporary Schedule I order for mitragynine pseudoindoxyl (MGPI), MGM-15 and MGM-16 took effect today. DOJ also announced limited enforcement discretion but not legal exemption for incidental trace MGPI in otherwise botanical kratom. Link to our news update below.

With DEA’s Schedule I order in effect, MGPI is no longer included in our extended M. speciosa alkaloid profile. Before shipping a sample that may contain MGPI, MGM-15, or MGM-16, contact us so we can review sample acceptance and whether the LC-MS Mitragynine Derivatives panel is appropriate.

Cordycepin, an adenosine nucleoside analog, is one of the primary bioactive components of Cordyceps mushrooms, believed to be responsible for many of the fungi's energy modulating, anti-inflammatory, and anti-tumor effects when consumed.

Sceletium (kanna) was traditionally fermented and dried before use. Depending on the process, this may alter the active alkaloid profile, including mesembrine, mesembrenone, and mesembrenol, which contribute to the plant's psychoactive properties.

Cordycepin, an adenosine nucleoside analog, is one of the primary bioactive components of Cordyceps mushrooms, believed to be responsible for many of the fungi's energy modulating, anti-inflammatory, and anti-tumor effects when consumed.

So is mitragynine an opioid? Scientifically, yes. It activates the mu opioid receptor and has definitive opioid-like activity.

But it's clearly not an opiate and shouldn't be lumped together with strong triple opioid agonists such as heroin or fentanyl and stigmatized as such.

On the subject of Mitragyna speciosa (kratom), many ask, does the plant contain opioids?

Before answering, we need to clearly understand the difference between opiates and opioids and what those terms really mean.

The inability to activate all three opioid receptors simultaneously gives mitragynine a significantly better safety profile than classical opiates.

Kratom was used as an herbal medicine and recreationally for hundreds of years in Southeast Asia before government intervention.
