A passkey login record only says someone logged in with a passkey. Behind that line sit Apple Passwords, Google Password Manager, Samsung Pass and others. They sync and prompt differently. The AAGUID tells you which one your users are on.

Somebody in a meeting says Android is dragging your login numbers down. Can you check whether that is true? One overall success rate will not tell you. Split your logins by device and the gap usually sits in one single step.

Most broken passkey logins never reach your server. Your dashboard stays green while people cannot log in. The loudest error fired 593,000 times and cost 17 points of completion. A rarer one fired 6,300 times and cost 82. Sort by impact, not by count.

India is moving beyond SMS OTP. But swapping an OTP for face or fingerprint doesn't make login phishing-resistant on its own.

For World Passkey Day, we published the Passkey Benchmark 2026.

The goal was simple: look beyond the hype and understand what passkey adoption actually looks like in practice.

3 takeaways most teams underestimate:

[corbado @corbadotech]

Main takeaway: passkey adoption is no longer just a technical availability question.

It is an operational question about rollout, recovery, and authentication UX.

Chrome→Safari WebAuthn fail with YubiKeys? Often credProtect.
With resident keys + UV:"preferred", Chrome may escalate to Level 3 (UV required). Safari can fail with roaming keys → “no credentials”.
Fix: use UV:"required" or handle UV=false server-side.

Passwordless != passkey only

Adding passkeys is just step 1. Full passwordless means phasing out fallback passwords & securing recovery flows.

Otherwise, attackers still have a way in.
