Do you know what is in your kebab?

Many people in the UK thought they did but one of the largest suppliers, Kismet Kebabs, has just been prosecuted for lying extensively.

Their “lamb” kebabs were labelled as having 50-70% of lamb but DNA testing has shown they have very little lamb.

The contents were often mostly skin, fat, goat, beef trim/offcuts, chicken, mutton, and mechanically reclaimed meat.

The company made at least £6m from the fraud and it was just fined £500,000 (plus court costs).

So much for the “UK’s No. 1 Halal Doner Kebab Manufacturer”.

I am having a drink this evening with a friend in a Chiswick pub. Two policemen have just come into the pub and asked me to step outside. I have stepped outside and they have threatened me because I tweeted about a councillor banning seating outside pubs in Chiswick. They admit on video (watch it!) that I did not break the law at all. They came to threaten me. To warn me off tweeting about councillors and the council. This is modern Britain. This is the police state. Please, please, please watch this video. It does involve me using very bad language, but this has got to be seen. Police coming out to threaten someone who hasn’t committed a crime. I’m fuming.

Zohran Mamdani just froze rents on over a million apartments in New York City. Investor Sergey Brin just responded by walking out the door!

The world's third-richest man dumped his entire stake in a NYC rent-stabilized apartment fund for six cents on the dollar. Not a typo. Six cents.

That is what Mamdani's socialist utopia looks like in practice. A $268 billion man taking a bath just to get as far away from New York City housing policy as humanly possible.

And Brin is not alone. The fund he fled is sitting on $84 million in unpaid rent and facing foreclosure on a half-billion dollar loan. The University of California already wrote down its own $115 million investment by 50%.

Meanwhile Brin took his pennies and quietly bought a $51 million waterfront estate in Miami.

That is the market giving Mamdani a one-finger salute on the way out of town.

An A&E Real Estate spokesperson put it plainly: "Institutional capital - both equity investors and lenders - are fleeing New York City's rent-stabilized apartment sector. They understand New York is in a doom loop."

A doom loop. Built by design. Celebrated as compassion.

Margaret Thatcher said it best: "The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money."

New York is not running out. It is chasing the money out. There is a difference, and it is worse.

When the capital is gone, the maintenance stops. When the maintenance stops, the buildings rot. And the same tenants Mamdani claims to be protecting will be the ones living in the wreckage.

This is not a rent freeze. It is a slow-motion demolition of the housing stock, dressed up in the language of justice.

J'en peux plus des mecs de plus de 20 ans qui croient encore au Père Noël.

Alors je vais t'expliquer, comme à un gosse, à quel point c'est attardé de croire au socialisme.

T'es dans une classe de 30 élèves. Un élève bosse comme un fou et a 18 de moyenne. Un autre fait rien et a 4. Le prof décide que c'est injuste et donne à tout le monde la moyenne de la classe : 11.

Celui qui avait 18 arrête de bosser. Pourquoi se fatiguer si ça change rien ? Celui qui avait 4 continue de rien faire. Pourquoi bosser si on te donne 11 gratuitement ?

L'année suivante la moyenne de la classe est à 7. Puis 5. Puis 3.

Le prof ne comprend pas. Il pense que le problème c'est que les élèves ne sont pas assez solidaires. Alors il met en place des punitions pour ceux qui ne font pas assez d'efforts. Il surveille tout le monde. Il décide qui étudie quoi. Il interdit de changer de classe.

C'est exactement ce qui s'est passé. À chaque fois. Dans chaque pays. Sans exception.
