Bigger radius = stronger edge = longer tool life.
Don’t let the finished part radius automatically dictate your roughing tool. When the machining strategy allows it, a larger corner radius can improve edge strength, tool life, and productivity.

Actual Chip Thickness is one of the most important cutting parameters you should be evaluating when sending your tool! Your actual chip thickness will naturally decrease if you are stepping over less than 50% of the cutter diameter.
Your chamfer mill isn't a cylinder; it's a cone! So, which diameter are you programming to?
The Z position decides what's actually cutting. Saddle mid-edge: bigger effective diameter, lower RPM. Drop to the tip: the effective diameter shrinks, so you need more RPM to hold SFM
RECONDITIONING/REGRINDING is something we do very well, and any brands are welcomed! Quite frankly, the most effective method of optimizing your return on investment is to regrind carbide tools. Give us a call and we can assist!

Our QTR3 Miniature Tool Series consistently exceeds expectations! This compact assortment of tools features 1/4" shank diameters, enhancing the relative bending rigidity by as much as 256 times on the smallest option (1/16" cutting diameter).
Hey everyone! Can you believe it? IMTS2026 is just 48 days away, and we’re gearing up to be there in full force! I invite you to come see our latest innovations.

If you're looking for answers and solutions related to tooling, like to support "Made in USA" products, highly value human interaction, and desire tools that function as intended, then give Core Cutter a try—we create tool solutions that work (Custom or standard designs).
Now is the time to leave nothing on the table! This is one of the most influential machining tips that is completely FREE to consider and can result in an incredible amount of savings!
Solid carbide tool notching is a legitimate concern in materials that are hardened or tough to machine. You can counterattack that by implementing a Z-Oscillation depth of cut strategy. Give us a call—we have solutions to offer!

Folks, as tool manufacturers, we are not making more money as a result of this fundamental shift in carbide pricing; rather, our margins have been eroded. The folks getting rich over it are far overseas, but that's not standing in our way
This is it, folks. Have you been trying to find some effective cut parameters? We have created one of the most precise speed and feed apps available. You can get it for free at https://t.co/O4xVtXplSE!

We recognize that carbide prices are becoming outrageous, but since all cutting tool manufacturers are impacted—though maybe not at the same time—please exercise caution when and if you decide to switch brands. This could have an impact on your bottom line.
Entering the part's chamfer length into the tool finder and then locating the appropriate tool is much easier with our new COREcut CNC app. The white line indicates the length of the chamfer on your part, while the orange line denotes the cutting edge of the tool.
Facing (planar milling) with an endmill is pretty common; our new app supports speeds and feeds for this operation just as well.
