“And through it all, we wore the pain
We held our own through the darkest of our nights
It's written in my blood, it's carved into my soul
Through the darkest of our nights
'Cause if you couldn't stop us then
What hope do you have now...”

I honestly don’t see how medical professionals manage to do their jobs so early in the mornings when most of them are so overworked and sleep deprived.
Mad respect to you all.
Trying to explain complex medical information in a relatively easy to understand format on less than 3 hours of sleep, while not having had my ADHD meds, coffee OR breakfast turns a task that would normally come relatively easily to me, near impossible.
@c_andreahunt@josiegirl62 Huh. See I didn’t realise that you can’t legally ask. Where I live every store asks for them if you aren’t wearing one, which I’m ok with.
Wasn’t saying @josiegirl62 was wrong in her actions, simply giving a viewpoint. :)
@JStagoll @Rugbysmartarse @IndigenousX My understanding is it’s to do with how connected you are but also whether you are accepted into the community by the elders. Though, I’m not a First Nations person, so I can’t speak for them, just speaking from my observations.
@IndigenousX 2/2 - As an example, I have a friend who has had a lot of interaction with the local aboriginal community and even though they have no genetic heritage, those in the local Aboriginal community have accepted them as part of that community with approval from the elders.
@IndigenousX It doesn’t matter how much or how little of a culture you have in you genetically.
If you have any of a culture in your blood and celebrate that culture and/or have been accepted as a member by that community. You are valid in your identification with that culture.
@FrontinParker @TJTowberman @josiegirl62 As panic attacks have been linked to higher CO2 levels in the blood, I would LOOOOVE to see some sort of technology implemented to improve masks by making them able to purify CO2 into O2 passively.
2/2
@FrontinParker @TJTowberman @josiegirl62 I believe the masks have a hydrophobic AND a hydrophilic layer that adds to the ability to contain pathogens.
1/2
@josiegirl62 Not saying that you didn’t check in this case, and it IS their responsibility to declare it. I just know that, as someone with PTSD, ADHD and anxiety, I have had people become quite aggressive before asking when I have forgotten to initially declare it and it has been harmful.
@josiegirl62 I can understand this approach, especially if there’s part of the conversation that isn’t posted here.
However, please make sure that if mask exemptions apply for medical conditions where you work, that you ask if they have one before going into this approach.
I’ve been learning that if it’s not in my control, it’s best to accept the situation & control how I react to it. That’s all anyone can do, control what you’re able to control and accept the rest.
Even though I’m double jabbed, I had to be PCR tested yesterday, despite my double vaccine status, the idea of potentially contracting COVID no matter how low the risk is, is terrifying. Though I’m coping better than I would have in the past.
@timheffo Definitely, very excited to have discovered it, looks very promising.
Doing a lot better than I was under this psychiatrist’s care, experiencing a compassionate, professional partnership where I’m actually listened to & using pills as a secondary aid (not just being drugged up).
Just discovered #TRE as a form of trauma therapy today. My psychiatrist will be running me through how to do it in our session tomorrow. I’ll attach a video about it from a scientific standpoint below
