We enjoy so many of our rights thanks to brave people breaking the laws of the time. Especially women. So honestly, I have no issue with people breaking the law in order to progress our society & secure rights. The law isn’t always right and what’s right isn’t always legal.
@Alberthallmcr A brilliant night in the pit, such an amazing musical troubadour who was able to easily link into a sort of next level with any audience, a generational loss
@g2mcc@EoinTennyson A fair point, but the headline is about one specific minister from one specific party. Unsure what the Justice minister would have to do with the conduct of the Communities minister
@g2mcc@EoinTennyson It’s not really an issue of whataboutery, the headline is the minister was found to have breached standards, if another case is set up investigating the Justice minister let it be discussed then
@g2mcc@PaulVall17@AlexKane221b Irish for senior leadership or high council, all parties have them just under different names. The Irish language is more accessible than ever now if you want signposted towards local classes and services
@g2mcc@AlexKane221b I don’t have an issue with it personally however many others will for understandable reasons. It would be in the DUP’s best interest to be seen to at least publicly reciprocate the reaching out shown by SF. Don’t think the DUP can lecture anyone about commemorations after this
@g2mcc@AlexKane221b Now now Gareth, myself and many others from both communities simply just want to see equal reciprocation between the executive parties when it comes to events like this, I had no issue with Michelle attending Charles’ coronation, but moments like that need to be matched
@g2mcc@AlexKane221b Every constituency in the North has at least 1 DUP Elected rep on some level, someone from the upper leadership eg Gavin Robinson or Michelle McIlveen needs to be seen to attend as Peter Robinson did in 2011 when the inauguration was still held on 11/11
@g2mcc@AlexKane221b Surely not EVERY member of DUP Senior Leadership is absolutely required to be at local commemorations, also to say “hostile” about the Irish president is laughable when the role of the English head of state is inherently hostile to the ideals of Irish Nationalists
@g2mcc@AlexKane221b Regardless, always nice to reciprocate the cross community hands of friendship. Certainly not easy for republicans to attend Royal Coronations however very much done in the spirit of reconciliation and cooperation, shame if that’s going to be the attitude of the DUP
@DHamill2004 He blocked me previously for calling him out on abusing publicly elected reps going through cancer treatment on the basis that they were Sinn Féin TDs, terrible case of a man
