...cycling-only block at Essex/Shaw, & upgraded contra-flow bike lanes. This has resulted in an overall increase in cycling volumes & a decrease in motor vehicle traffic volumes on Shaw St and connecting local streets. Learn more at https://t.co/NDBx4gvtEK. (2/3)
THIS IS IMPORTANT: A new study involving over 100 EU cities shows that new Covid-era cycling infrastructure has already grown cycling rates by 11-48% on average, which could generate between $1-$7 billion in health benefits alone IF infrastructure is kept. https://t.co/bGdLGVJmhX

@tapairportugal Many thanks for the follow up. The issue hasnt been solved yet, unfortunately. Hesitant to try the Ontario help phone # again due to previous results - any other suggestions on how we can connect?
Hey @tapairportugal - Ive been on hold for 4h23m, having spoken with five different reps (Ontario) and disconnected a total of five times with no solutions to an electronic error you made on my ticket.
Customer service experience so far? Not good...

Parks "should be abolished" is one of the most deranged statements I've heard in recent memory...also, good use of a cover photo showing a bustling park aka "waste of space".
In @nationalpost I argue parks are little more than "vast swaths of land smack in the middle of large urban centres that could house hundreds of people, but are instead being used as a toilet by half a dozen dogs." They should be abolished or privatized. https://t.co/zhbH0yR6IM
Amazing what amounts to a relatively minor modification can have on a single intersection - traffic calming, reduced user/vehicle conflict, enhanced public realm, added greenspace, and improved aesthetic...the list continues.
Road diets can have major impacts...
βοΈ Improve safety.
π³ Add greenery to improve air quality & begin to calm urban heat island impacts.
π Improve local quality of life by providing more social and recreation spaces in neighborhoods.

thinking back on (slightly) warmer days this past fall - recently renovated space just off the #Railpath at Osler/Dupont. Aesthetic wood/steel treatments 4 seating, ample lighting at night, corten barrier dampens traffic - a nice respite #publicrealm#cycling#urbandesign
#ThrowbackThursday From turf grass to thriving meadow - this section of #mymeadoway is just east of Benshire Rd. It's the site of our pilot project that provided the inspiration to expand restoration efforts to a full 16 km. #ScarbTO
We are thrilled to announce that The Meadoway, a project of @TRCA_HQ, has been selected by the @highlinenyc in New York to join their prestigious international network of infrastructure reuse projects. Learn more: https://t.co/7MAlHxfE4V #ScarbTO
