People like to diss riders who publicly discuss motopacing, and yes, sometimes riders will use motopacing as an excuse, but most of the time, they are right to call it out. I applaud riders for openly discussing it.
That's how change is made in our sport. 🤷
We are likely witnessing the end of US global dominance, much like the fall of the British Empire in the wake of the world wars and the 1956 Suez Canal Crisis, but significantly more consequential.
No matter what happens, the outcome of the Iran war will make it clear to the world that the emperor has no clothes.
Many people are unprepared for such a historic shift. But when you put all the pieces together, the Big Picture becomes clear.
Changes in the world order are rare, history-defining events—with massive implications, both geopolitical and financial.
We are living through one of those rare moments right now.
That’s why it’s critical to tune out the noise, cut through the propaganda, and understand the true geopolitical landscape.
The Dogon of Mali possessed astronomical knowledge centuries before Galileo's telescope, challenging everything we thought we knew about ancient science. Ancient African astronomy 🪐 deserves recognition.
A Chinese perspective on the Iran war from top scholar Zhang Weiwei:
"The trade war failed. The tariff war failed. The tech war failed. This war will fail."
"Trump's decisions are consistently very poor. With decision-making of that caliber, how dare he pick a fight?"
Fascinating to watch first 🇫🇷, then 🇬🇧, then 🇮🇹, now 🇩🇪 start to acknowledge what 🇪🇸's government recognised from the very start: the Trump-Netanyahu war on Iran is a reckless intervention conducted without regard for the rules of war and without a strategy for what comes next.
@ctindale@nosh15 This American/Israel “special military operation” has a profound impact the total economy of the world. Who is going to stop this craziness? Dear Americans, you need to get control of your president
@SAHRCommission There's no water in Joburg, and service delivery has been limping for a long time in SA. You don't see us flee to Nigeria. Why is SA being made a solution for the failures of the governments of Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Somalia, Pakistan, Bangladesh...?
@MHLUNGUOLUHLAZA America is out of control. Trump is a very dangerous man.
But I guess they ended up with him as president because his craziness resonated with them.
Woolworths: You pay premium for the vibe, polite staff, and no chaos. Checkers: Chaos, but cheaper. Pick n Pay: Stuck in the middle, still expensive. Shoprite: Boxer prices but with extra drama. Me: Goes to all of them hunting specials like it's a treasure hunt. SA life.
A good chunk of the top people in government were just openly exposed as abusive, likely satanic, pedophiles.
And people are still clocking in for government jobs, still following orders passed down through a chain of command that ultimately traces back to the very same people.
And even more people will still fork over a portion of their hard earned labor to them.
Really wild to think about.
You cannot say it better than Adam Smith:
"In the courts of princes, in the drawing-rooms of the great, where success depends not upon merit but upon favour, truth is seldom heard. This disposition to admire, and almost to worship, the rich and the powerful… is the great and most universal cause of the corruption of our moral sentiments."

Due to extreme winds, the results of today's ITT won't count for GC, but they will count for a stage victory.
Either the parcours is safe to ride, or it is not. Reducing the amount of people risking their safety, doesn't reduce the individual risk for those riders. 🤷♂️ #VCV
@ricwe123 Took 80% of his people out of poverty…? Where do you get that stats?
Are you aware that half the population of China has “disappeared”? How did that happen?
Are you aware of forced organ transplantations and its effects on the population?
