Sorry babe I can’t come to bed until the candle has melted completely around the edges or else it’s gonna burn unevenly next time and shorten its lifespan
A nazi becoming the first trillionaire off taxpayer subsidies mergers and apartheid mine inheritance isn't an anomaly. It's showing you what the system rewards.
Capitalism is a death cult
Today, Elon Musk, a trillionaire, pays the same amount into Social Security as someone making $184,500.
If we end that absurdity and lift the cap on taxable income, we can make Social Security solvent for 75 years and expand benefits by $2,400. My Social Security bill does that.
MIKA: Given your sexting, can you call for the release of the Epstein files and not be conflicted in any way?
PLATNER: Yes, of course. I engaged in consensual romantic activities with adults at an earlier part of my life. That seems like a fairly normal thing most people do. Going to an island with billionaires to possibly assault children is a vastly, vastly different thing.
eight years ago anthony bourdain who experienced so much of this world chose to leave it and i can’t help but think of sylvia plath’s quote “wherever i sat, on the deck of a ship or at a street café in paris or bangkok, i would be sitting under the same glass bell jar”
Graham Platner: “If I had my way, elections would last two months, they would be publicly funded, and if a billionaire looked at a TV ad the wrong way we’d put ‘em in jail.”
WOW -- Trump crashes out and cuts his interview with Welker short as she presses him on his lack of evidence for claiming elections are rigged
"You're either crooked or you're stupid. Let's call it quits. Because I've had enough. Thank you darling," he tells her."
"I traveled all the way to Wisconsin for this interview," she pleads.
We should say it: candidacies like Graham Platner in Maine or Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan have not grown in spite of establishment targeting, but somewhat because of it.
Base anger after 2024 is palpable. And some Democrats want not just an elected who will oppose Trump and Republicans, but one who will also change their own party from within.
On @InsidePolitics with @mkraju@CNN
They’re also smart enough to see through a coordinated smear campaign done by a ruling corporate class (which includes dems and republicans alike) who feels threatened
It’s really this simple. Voters are shrewd enough to understand when they should ally with someone who will ruthlessly advance their goals (pro-m4a, anti-fascist, anti-war). That he’s an imperfect messenger just doesn’t matter when they believe in the platform
“He’s the best candidate by far. And probing into the minutia of his personal relationships when you don't do that for any other candidate is ridiculous”
centrists libs & rw cannot comprehend that people like his platform. ppl want to abolish ice, hold israel accountable for genocide, end our expensive wars & spend that money on m4a & schools instead. the optics of being a rugged white vet doesn’t hurt, but it’s mostly the policies & his earnest way of communicating them that have made mainers trust him. i have my own doubts abt his service/ merc work - but im not silly enough to assume that ME voters would see that as a negative. the desperate manufactured outrage around his personal issues don’t matter when voters see him as a vehicle to push for changes they want to see in the senate!
So, unless there's something else coming, the big NYT exposé is that Platner was a bad boyfriend to some women but also a good boyfriend to other women?

This is California. It’s home to 11.8% of Americans, has the fourth largest GDP in the world, is global hub for culture and technology, and is one of the most reliably blue states in the country.
The only problem is that every Democrat they elect is the Antichrist.
