it’s kinda crazy the way fear of being accused of using ai as a fic writer can subconsciously shape the way you write and how you view the process.

i am an em dash lover yet my most recent fics have virtually none.

i think twice about oc names in case it happens to be one that is commonly used by ai.

i worry that my voice varies too much between genres and people will take that as evidence i didn’t write them.

i feel anxious about posting for fests because people feel emboldened to throw accusations at writers when they don’t have an identity revealed yet.

i’ve made the mistake of deleting original docs with version history because i moved to a different software and now worry sometimes that if someone labels my older works as ai and i can’t show evidence for the time i worked on it, nobody will believe me.

its all just very sad and strange and it hurts my heart to see writers that i admire and love and that got me into writing be torn down because people throw baseless accusations out there without caring for how it can hurt others and their love for this space
