(he/him) Ph.D. candidate @UWMadEducation. I study rural K-12 leaders working to create inclusive, socially-just schools where LGBTQIA+ students can thrive.
As educational leaders and researchers, we need to critically look within ourselves and our systems to root out anti-LGBTQIA+ hate. Thank you, @jaapsuphd96, @BryanJDuartePhD, @Markie_Jay06, @MelindaMangin, @DrMoniByrne, Jim Koschoreck, Carol Mullen, & @UCEA for this conversation.

Now I’m looking forward to @UCEA in my neck of the woods in Minneapolis this November! Although I can’t guarantee it won’t look the way it did here this morning… Wasn’t it 80 degrees a few days ago??
Back from AERA! Special thanks to @DivA_EdLead for the registration award and @UWMadEducation#thisiselpa for supporting my attendance at the #Clark23 Seminar. I left Chicago feeling connected, inspired, and ready to work alongside my Queer SIG and Rural SIG colleagues!
Grateful to be a part of this amazing group! Special thanks to my #Clark23 mentors @sarahlouwou and Dr. Sheryl Croft for your thoughtful feedback and support. What a great way to start #AERA23 ! @UCEA@AERA_EdResearch
While Dane Co. went 82%-to-18% for Protasiewicz, she would have won even if you take away all of her Dane County votes (196K) and allow Kelly to keep his (43K). Narratives that the left’s wins are all Dane County are false.
Dick Wagner was a trailblazer and leader for Wisconsin's LGBTQ community. Dick's life and spirit of public service were an inspiration to many, and his legacy no doubt lives on in all of the lives he impacted through his advocacy and leadership.
These 4 books helped me make sense of 2020.
1. Let the People Pick the President: The Case for Abolishing the Electoral College @jessewegman
2. Winners Take All: The Elite Charade of Changing the World @AnandWrites
3. Caste @Isabelwilkerson
4. Why We’re Polarized @ezraklein
@juliekallio @walkerartcenter does a really cool weeklong residency program in middle schools where they teach stop motion animation and then bring the kids to the museum to watch their projects on the big screen! I went through the residency twice with my students. It’s great!
@johndiamondphd@DumiLM I’m listening to episode 1 and wishing for a conversation with @johndiamondphd and @LinnPoseyMaddox! I would add LPM’s “When Middle-Class Parents Choose Urban Schools” to the @nytimes list.
Wearing a face mask while physically distancing is one of the best things we can do to keep from unintentionally spreading #COVID19.
The kind of mask you choose can make a difference too, as this video from @UWMadEngr Prof. Scott Sanders shows.
