At least what you call my “negative mind” is still focused on speaking up, challenging harmful mindsets and standing up for people’s dignity and rights. I hope you saw RIB’s recent announcement addressing the same thing to people like you who misuse culture as an excuse to abuse, humiliate or violate others’ rights.

So perhaps take that “positive mind” of yours and go argue with RIB instead😂😂 As for me, I’ll rest my case here. Reality doesn’t become negative simply because you don’t like what it exposes.

My dear Do you really think we would be where we are today if every generation refused to think outside the box? 😂 Start with the phone you’re using to respond to me, was that part of our traditional culture? The house you live in, why not live in a nyakatsi if culture is the standard for everything?

Culture matters but no culture should be treated as untouchable when it comes at the expense of human dignity, freedom, safety or progress. Some traditions evolve, some are abandoned and some simply no longer belong in modern society.

And let’s be honest,in our traditional society, women did not dress the way many people expect today and men wore impuzu. So why selectively invoke “culture” when it comes to controlling what women wear?

Over-romanticizing culture can have real consequences ,keeping people in toxic marriages, normalizing abuse and discouraging individuals from making choices for themselves.

Culture should guide us not imprison us. Women deserve the same freedom to decide what they wear as men do. Progress exists because humanity had the courage to leave certain things behind🧏‍♀️

So, we have 63.75% women represented in Rwanda’s Chamber of Deputies, yet it has taken more than six days for action to be taken on an injustice affecting women. How is this acceptable?

What is the purpose of representation if when women need their voices heard and their rights defended, there is silence?

This is deeply concerning and honestly, it is becoming frightening. Women deserve protection, accountability and action, not silence.

@Rwandapolice @RwandaGender @RwandaParliament @RwandaGov @RwandaWomen @Rwanda_Justice please hear us. We need action. We need accountability. We need our institutions to stand with women when it matters most.

Don’t act so clever just to defend your flawed question. The real question we should be asking you is: why would you think that simply because this happened in 2023, the video should not be given attention today? If an injustice occurred, it deserves attention and justice, regardless of how many years have passed. AGAIN Justice does not have an expiration date🧏‍♀️

The same way we remember every year atrocities that happened decades ago to ensure they are never repeated and that justice is pursued we must not dismiss an issue simply because the video is from 2023. If similar cases are rising again in 2026 that should concern us even more. Injustice does not expire with time. Justice has no expiration date🧏‍♀️
