last week, i had the opportunity to give my first in-person talk and attend my first-ever #cogsci2024! had the absolute best time :-)
special thanks to my collaborators on this project @c_welk@_helenschmidt_@lukejchang @hawkrobe & my stage mom @emma__templeton for this photo!
I'm deeply honored to receive one of this year's @cogsci_soc Glushko Dissertation Prizes.
While I'm still in a state of disbelief about the award, what I can say in no uncertain terms, is that developing these ideas with @rebecca_saxe has been immensely formative and rewarding.
Jisu's presentation on computational modeling for predicting valence in social interactions is coming up.

That's it for MIND '23! Thanks to this awesome group of scholars for coming to @comp_mind_ss at @DartmouthPBS to learn & share methods for studying Interacting Minds! And for those who couldn't come, stay tuned: we will be releasing the tutorials from this year in a Jupyter book!
New paper demonstrating the hidden cost of receiving favors led by Xiaoxue Gao with @Eshjolly, @PsyHongbo, Huiying Liu, & Xiaolin Zhou. Indebtedness motivates reciprocity by minimizing feelings of guilt and obligation. https://t.co/DzVWk1BwpZ
New paper from @ThaliaWheatley, me, @StolkArjen & @lukejchang at Perspectives on Psychological Science!

Congratulations to Luke Chang (@lukejchang) of @DartmouthPBS for winning the first ever @SANS_news Mid-Career Award! Join us at #SANS2024 for his talk "Towards a computational social and affective science" https://t.co/cfpgh1gEf7
#SANS2024 Symposium 4: Neural, Network, and Neural Network Approaches for Social Relational Representation, moderated by @Eshjolly and Jae-Young Son, starting now!
First up, @Eshjolly discusses research using the @cosanlab Friday Night Lights fMRI dataset to study how relationships between characters shape how we represent and remember them.
The sold-out #SANS2024 Computational Preconference kicks off! Featuring hands-on workshops on reinforcement learning, neural decoding, and automated facial expression analysis led by @leorhackel, @phkragel, and @Eshjolly, respectively.
Check out our new preprint with @cosanlab
(lead: @Eshjolly)! Our results from a movie watching social memory task suggest that we naturally represent and remember people by their connections with others 🧑🤝🧑🧑👪💕
