📣 Aeon R Mission Duty Cycle complete!!! Last night @NASAStennis#AeonR burned in a flight-like configuration for 143 seconds at 70% power – marking a record-breaking pace for engine development and a very speedy 48-hour turnaround from Aeon R's first ever hot fires to successfully completing a full flight duration burn.
< 2 days Aeon Rs first hot fires ➡️ Full MDC
< 3 months ➡️ Powerpack install, testing, conversion to full engine, hot fires
< 1 year empty land ➡️ dual-bay vertical engine test stand
≤ 2 years ➡️ 1,000+ Aeon R component level tests
This is a HUGE milestone - full engine, 11x larger thrust than Aeon 1, designed for our reusable heavy lift rocket, and a big leap forward in 3D printing tech. Oh, and methane - 💙blue fire💜
🚀 The first fully built Aeon R engine has arrived @NASAStennis .
✔️ 800+ Aeon R component tests
✔️ Activation of the dual-bay vertical engine test stand

Our “flame range” facility, a unique structure (where we do all of our engine testing), consists of a 3,800-square-foot reinforced concrete chamber surrounded by a 25-foot-high perimeter wall that encloses an additional 6,500-square-foot yard.
Fun Fact: There's also a Rocket Engine Petting Zoo
Most people think about building spacecraft as a brainy, white lab coat type of activity and it can be that, but we also just use what we've got to get the job done. And yes, that is a hard disk drive 😆
