We had a head-injury case last week.

After finding the cost out, which is as low as it can get in a national institute in India, the family decided to go somewhere else.

They went around and found that private hospitals gave a far higher estimate, in lakhs.

Family got the patient back here, but by then he had worsened already and didn't survive long after surgery.

Point here:
Our society isn't really aware of how health, healthcare, and human bodies work.
People try to find out the best deal possible.
Which usually translates to the cheapest.

And lose golden time in the process.

What people need is science that is proven to work.
Not false hope like this below.

Sir @raghav_chadha requesting you to kindly ask all state and central run government hospitals and medical colleges to install MRI facility in hospital.
1.5T costs 2.5-4 Cr approx.

This way people would get it for not just discount but absolutely free. Rather than pouring money into Ayushman, a free diagnostic facility like MRI, PET SCAN is must.

Also please tell why governments outsource MRIs or run on PPP model when it costs penny to state or centre budget ?

TRUTH IS, blames are just to shift focus on inefficiency and gain browny points on social media. Most hospitals are run by non medical people but doctors are easy targets.

If the Government believes MBBS, BHMS, BAMS, BUMS, and BYNS are all equally “Doctors,” then why does the healthcare system come to a standstill when MBBS resident doctors go on strike?

Stop misleading patients. Reserve the “Dr.” prefix for MBBS and above in modern medicine. Let every other system use its own professional title and clearly display its qualifications.
