It was fun talking with DJ and the @decodesix group about soil water potential measurements. I hope this discussion can help show how useful water potential can be in understanding soil-plant-water interactions and water use.
Is it art? Is it science? Maybe it’s some of both. In this week’s podcast episode we talk about how measuring soil water potential can help you decide when to irrigate. https://t.co/14cHvy56G5

@aulalawrence There are some thoughts on ways to speed the measurement up with a transient method assuming there will be some error bounds. I’d be happy to share some papers that show this approach.

Q: Why is scientific outreach important?
A: We are scientists and at our core, we want to keep growing the science and keep exploring new problems through collaborations...

@meter_env This was a super fun listen. I learned a lot about plant defense mechanisms that I knew nothing about. Also makes you think about plant smells like fresh grass clippings.

@PartridgeCG It shouldn’t hurt for that long. Good cycling shorts help. But if that doesn’t do it a quick way to find the right seat is a professional bike fitting and pressure mapping to find a seat that fits. Did wonders for me.
Change the way you understand your #soil.
In this 20-minute on-demand webinar, METER scientist Leo Rivera, @countsracing, compares available methods and teaches how to combine the latest #technology to generate full, accurate soil moisture release curves.
@yannishimself@GiannisLouloud4@meter_env That is awesome! I'm always up for a beer and talking about some science. If you ever want to chat just shoot me a message.
@yannishimself@GiannisLouloud4@yannishimself this is pretty cool to see the modifications you made to increase the measurement speeds. I have seen a lot of different ways to do this over the years and would love to chat more about this if you are interested.
