The proposed Navan rail line will include a stop at Kilmessan, a village with a population of under 1,000. That’s because rail planning is about more than just current population figures. It’s about shaping future growth and giving places the infrastructure to grow sustainably.

That’s exactly why arguments against stations on the Knockmore Line at places like Crumlin and Glenavy don’t stack up. Rail investment should plan for the future, not just react to today’s numbers.
