Great to see the outstanding work of the @southamptonCRF receiving such prominent national media coverage today. The Southampton-led @Covboost study has important findings for fourth dose #covid jabs in the UK and beyond.
Fourth doses of #covid vaccines have been offered to the most vulnerable in the UK and a wider group might get them later this year. Latest findings from the @southamptonCRF@Covboost study show these jabs offer excellent boosting immunity protection. https://t.co/4WmK8JA6nl
The results of the @CovBoost fourth dose booster substudy are now online in @TheLancetInfDis
We demonstrated fourth doses of covid vaccines were safe and well tolerated and boost antibody levels above their peak following a third dose

Summary:
- Drops in S IgG by up to ~half by day 84
- Small drop for T cells
- S IgG drop more for mRNA boosters
- After 2x BNT, day 84 S IgG as good or better following Adenovirus boosters vs mRNA
- Reduced but still good neutralisation vs omicron at day 28 for mRNA boosters
