The age caps seem like a start. The rule will impact others too, like Australian punters and volleyball players.

that’s true — after the current overage players who are grandfathered in age out.

The rule is brand new for 2026, and doesn’t apply to players already rostered last season.

@ProspectsUsmnt Agreed, I know too many 18 and 19 year olds fighting three or four foreign-born former pros at their positions. At 23+ you’re just not built like a 19 year old, physically or mentally.

(Also, more Americans should lift weights in HS - the stigma around lifting is misplaced)
