@AwardsWatchErik It's interesting that Sinners hasn't presented total strength anywhere yet. If MBJ and Mosaku both win, it will have done something it hasn't done yet. Could be a sign of best picture?
@mavericksmovies@kristapley If you're against predicting the SAG winner with a top 2 best picture film, it really only makes sense to predict the actor in the best picture winner. It's just a bit of a leap with no pre-cursors but maybe he was 2nd at BAFTA.
@AKlay19 Sean Penn for Milk, but a person winning *only* SAG has only happened four times so we're in an unprecedented situation anyway. It's either the guy that won SAG and is in a top 2 film, or an actor with no pre-cursors which is equally unprecedented.
@nickbitt29@Jason_OTC I don't think it raises much of anything. The team is still going to suck. If they over perform next year its because he's legit good
@designodogwu@brianasj_ Most people are aware of the word even if they don't use it. His disability compels him to say words that he is actively trying to repress. It's unspeakably awful but that is the illness.
@jasonosia Struggling to think of an example of a film sweeping Bafta and the one thing that misses out still ends up winning the oscar. I don't think it has really ever happened?
Lupita in 2013 is probably the closest comp but 12yas actually only won two baftas.
@jasonosia She's certainly a respected British actress but this is also a film and performance which I think plays better with SAG than your typical Bafta voter. And there have been many British performances in contention in the past that haven't won!
@AwardsWatchErik@phoenixrisng821 Hamnet is an absolutely enormous box office hit in the UK (outgrossing the U.S domestic total). I think it's wrong to say the British don't care about hamlet/hamnet.
@J_cubTheJeweler@DavidDTSS Why wouldn't they? How many times have we seen players re-sign with the small market team that can offer the supermax? If we've learned one thing about these players its that they look for the money first and then ask for the trade.
@NMBR1WOLVESFAN @drewkerr17 @pandemicPG@Fullcourtpass@joevardon They would choose where to go and only so many teams would have cap space. People are deluded if they think these rookies would take a much smaller contract with a big market teams over what smaller market teams could potentially offer them as a first contract.
